The following terms shall have the meanings assigned as per their order of reference: Procedures: The practical steps taken for implementing human resources policies by Human Resources Group and other departments and persons, dealing with Human Resources Group. The Bank: Boubyan Bank (K.S.C.) and its legal domicile are in the State of Kuwait. Allowance: A compensation or cash value paid monthly to the employee in addition to his/her base salary to make up for performing special duties. Payment of such allowance may be changed or suspended in case of absence of reasons of its payment. Promotion: Promoting the employee from one zone to another with an increase in salary owing to efficiency considerations, or from a job to a higher job of higher grade, salary and jurisdictions. Marital Status: Social status of the employee which defines the level of benefits or his/her contractual dues (single, married, divorced, widow). Division: The organization unit headed by a manager. A group of Divisions are headed by general manager, deputy general manger or Group Head, in accordance with the endorsed organizational chart of the Bank. Grade: The class which reflects the value of the job compared to other jobs in the Bank based on the endorsed job evaluation system. The grade is classified into a group of zones.

Base Salary:


The monthly salary, without any allowances, paid to the employee in consideration of his/her work. Total Salary: Base salary inclusive of allowances, if any, paid to the employee at the end of each month. Travel on official Missions: Traveling abroad for carrying out official duties for the Bank for a definite period not exceeding six months. Financial Year: Financial Year of the Bank starts on 1 January and expires on 31 December. Family: Wife and two children at maximum, whose ages should not be more than eighteen years. This includes children from previous marriage and children from divorced or separated couples. Annual Allowance (Annual Increment): An increase in the base salary of the employee to be determined in accordance with the employee’s level of performance during the previous year. Fixed Contract: An agreement between the Bank and an employee which includes a salary and miscellaneous benefits different from those paid to other regular staff given for a fixed period to employed staff placed on the approved grading structure. Overseas Recruitment: A special agreement between the Bank and a foreign employee having special expertise, concluded with him/her outside the State of Kuwait on which might be on permanent or for a specific period on special terms that may be different from the general terms and conditions. Temporary Contract: One-month term contract renewable for a maximum of six months for carrying out specific duties and the two parties are entitled to terminate the contract at any time. Contracting Agreement: An agreement made for the supply of workers. The obligation in this agreement is made with an employment agency which shall be entirely responsible for the workers.
