Meet Our Staff! Kia Soden-Aquatics Programming Kia Soden is a certified group fitness instructor through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). Graduating from Missouri State University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Movement Science, Kia is very passionate about health and fitness. Kia is also a certified Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program Leader. In addition to fitness, Kia also really enjoys working in the aquatics department. She is the new aquatic programming specialist and really enjoys helping people learn to swim. In her free time, Kia is an outdoor enthusiast and her favorite hobbies include rock climbing with her husband and practicing yoga. Come join Kia in one of her classes, including strength and stability, senior stretch, senior fit, GlideFit, or water fitness! She’d love to meet you and work with you!

Emily Gamble-Dance Instructor Emily Gamble is our new dance instructor, bringing so many skills and unique classes back to The Centre. So far, Emily has taught Swing, Beginner Adult Ballet, and Toddler and Me Dance classes. She truly enjoys the span of ages that she gets to work with as she believes you're never too young or too old to start dancing. Emily has even performed two shows with Weird Al Yankovic! Emily loves empowering people to feel more comfortable in their bodies. "We all have the inclination to dance when we're babies, but often when we grow older, we start to care about what others think and embarrassment sets in. I love teaching people skills to be confident in their natural movement and break free from embarrassment." With her 15 minutes of fame, Emily would be gracious, honest, and calm. She'd be open about how she arrived where she was, spend a lot of time thanking people, and if she made any money, she would donate to a cause she cared about. Check with the Front Desk for Emily's current class schedule!

Total body resistance training using free weights set up in a circuit style format. An hour of intense, butt kicking work!

Line dances involve repeating a series of steps, so if you get lost, you can easily catch back up! Each dance can be described to consist of a number of walls that dancers face at any given time.

Build strength, increase bone density and decrease body fat by INCREASING lean muscle, which is proved to burn calories.

Suspension training marking a revolutionary change in circuit and interval training while increasing strength and endurance with safety in mind.

Cycling (LiveFit, Mixed Terrain, Sunrise): For any indoor cycling enthusiast, and energizing, adventurous, non-impact ride to enhance your cardio output, strength, and endurance.

Forever Young: Gain functional strength and balance. Increase range of motion plus cardio function from low impact exercises with other active older adults.

Pilates: This class is focused on building strength without bulk, improving flexibility and agility, and helping to prevent injury.

Short bursts of high-intensity (or maxintensity) exercise followed by brief lowintensity activity or rest. The goal is to get out of the endurance zone, and we do so with compound joint exercises using weights, body-weight exercises, and speed work.

PiYo combines the muscle-sculpting, corefirming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility advantages of yoga. We crank the speed up to deliver a true fatburning, low impact workout that leaves your body looking long, lean, and incredibly defined.

Power Up:

Punch and kick the calories away with fast paced combos designed to raise your heart rate and release your inner fighter. All fitness levels welcome!

This class will have you feeling invincible! With weight bearing strength, followed by "powerful" cardio, and ending with core and abdominal training.

Senior Stretch: Improve posture, balance, and coordination while stretching in a relaxing environment. Chairs available for seated and standing support. 45 minute class.

Strength and Stability: Strength training with an emphasis on good form and functional movements. This class uses body weight, free weights, and stability balls.

World of Dance: Dance and Fitness go hand in hand in this class. Learn new steps as well as perfect some old ones. Designed for all fitness levels.

Yoga: We offer two classes: one teaching yoga basics and a solid foundation, and the other that builds on the basics with movements that flow easily together.
