Ty Hildum Chairman of the Board Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce Welcome and thank you for recognizing the benefits of membership at the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce. We offer real value for your membership investment, which is vital to keeping our programs and advocacy going. Now that you are a member, be sure to take advantage of the benefits like our Energy Cooperative, which can provide significant savings on your energy bills. Take advantage of networking opportunities at the monthly Chamber Business Breakfast where we present interesting and relevant speakers. Come get introduced to new or renovated businesses for potential B2B opportunities at our Business After Hours and Ribbon Cuttings. If you are a business looking to expand, be sure to ask about our Economic Gardening program. Once qualified, you get access to data and research to turn your business from local to regional. And don’t forget about Metro Money, keeping your dollars local. Reap what you sow! The members that get the greatest value for their membership are the ones who remain active in the community and share their time. Your continued input and participation in events are the best ways to stay connected and return the favor from when you got started. Your attendance should be as important as unlocking your doors each day. Tell us what you need out of our State and Local politicians. Ask questions at the monthly Business Breakfasts. Attend City Council Meetings and provide feedback when asked. Through events and activities like these we have been successful in creating powerful synergies between businesses, community partners, and government.

We have a few new staff members, so be sure to stop by the office and introduce yourself. Let’s keep the momentum going! Under Mirinda Rothrock’s leadership, we look forward to another spectacular year at the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce. Thank you for your continued support and, more importantly, your input and participation. By supporting each other, the potential of Decatur and Macon County is truly limitless.

Sincerely, Ty Hildum Norfolk Southern

Our Mission is not simply a written statement; it’s our guide to action and the standard by which we measure every project, campaign and event:

We are a pro-business network providing service, political advocacy and leadership to strengthen education, community image and local business.

-Dale Colee: Dale’s Southlake Pharmacy & Colee’s Corner Drugs

“One of the many benefits of being a Chamber Member is taking part in the CQI Energy Co-op. My businesses are able to save valuable time and money by having the chamber negotiate lower rates for us. We are able to save enough annually to pay for our Chamber Membership! Brian and his team are so helpful, and a great resource for a business owner to have. I highly recommend all business owners become a part of the Chamber and the Energy Co-Op program today. ”

“We love being a member of the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce. As an organization that serves Macon County, and relies on it for continued support, Macon Resources, Inc. couldn’t be more appreciative of the collaborative efforts made by The Chamber. Their programming is clearly geared toward the interests of local businesses and social service agencies, and their work as an advocate for local commerce is - Amy Bliefnick: Executive Director of MRI second to none.” “Initially knowing only that I wanted to find an avenue to get involved with the community, I’ve now been a Chamber Ambassador for about 4 1/2 years. This program has allowed me to attend events from ribbon cuttings for new and expanding businesses to events which featured the governor as the keynote speaker. What I didn’t anticipate happening is that the other ambassadors have really become good friends of mine, and they are all great representatives of our community. I see us as the cheerleaders of our community, and we’ll always be here to tell the story of Decatur and Macon County. “ -Kyle Wiese: Chairman of Chamber Ambassadors, Account Executive at Neuhoff Media “DLI was an amazing opportunity to better understand the rich resources, community organizations, and innovations right here in my hometown of Decatur. I value the great relationships with peers and networking opportunities the program provided. I am utilizing what I have learned to become a leader for our community.”
