LIFE AFTER THE PLANETREE LABEL Five years ago, GGzE introduced the international Planetree concept. Everyone has worked hard to make care for clients and employees even more people-focused and to work even more in line with the objective. This has resulted in GGzE being the first mental health institution in Europe to be awarded the Planetree label.

Even more people-focused Of course, it did not stop there. Our ambition is to raise the satisfaction of clients, employees, loved ones and stakeholders to an even higher level. In 2018, this should be at least an 8. What do we need to do differently to achieve that? To get a clear picture, we launched “Next Level Planetree�. Together with customers, employees, loved ones and stakeholders, we took a symbolic journey to the future and, based on this, outlined our vision for the future.

The world is changing... rapidly! In addition to assessing the knowledge and experiences of others on our journey, we also took a good look at the world around us. After all, this changing world affects clients, employees, loved ones and stakeholders, and therefore GGzE. More attention is being paid to the so-called “economy of meaning”. What value do you add to people’s lives? Society’s DNA is increasingly made up of: creativity, inspiration, caring craftsmanship, strong collectives, convenience and cleverness, play, optimism and “small is the new big”.

THE NEW GGzE As we approached the end of our journey, we were able to form a good picture of what GGzE’s future vision should look like. We gained an insight into our ambition, our beliefs for the future and, therefore, the direction in which we want to move. A direction based on growth, strength and connecting.

GGzE, allowing people to grow! People are happier and more content when they can contribute to society using their mental strength. For that reason, we want to give room to talent and creativity, we want humour and fun to be an important part of everyday life, we want to think with our hearts, we want to be proud of ‘being special’ and focus on meeting. Because then ... we can allow people to grow!

Our role is to form the inspiring community in which people can grow on the basis of their talent and potential. We do not simply focus on illness and the limitations this sometimes entails. No, we want to enable growth, connect, and get the most out of strengths and talents. So no more, “we know what is good for you” but rather we look at “where do your talents and development opportunities lie”. From care environment to development environment. From remote organisation to a community that is close.


Inspiring community for mental strength A community is a group of people connecting with each other because they have common interests and common values. Members of a community exchange information with each other, appreciate each other and help each other. A community is also the basis of our support for development. Together with the client, loved ones, staff and other organisations, we look for how someone can find his strength to participate in society.

Growth areas We see the inspiring community for mental strength as an environment in which people can develop and grow. We have therefore created a development programme for clients and employees; GGzE ... Allowing people to grow!

MENTALITY OF WELCOME We want people to feel welcome. We do this by being welcoming, putting the client first, and by creating a healing environment. EXCELLENT CARE Excellent care means the best possible, people-focused care based on an integral treatment. This means psychic, somatic and addiction factors will be identified and will be treated. But also that all treatment is based on best practice or evidence. LIFE AND LIVING We want to provide the most healing environment possible. This means that we want to create an environment that feels like home. By also looking for humane technological developments that contribute to the well-being, we can strengthen the connection with family, loved ones and society in general. PURE ENJOYMENT OF FOOD Eating is not simply eating. Good quality and tasty food are important. It is also about the enjoyment. This is why we are aiming for responsible food, growing our own food and preparing it ourselves.


GIVING EXPERIENCE WORKING AND LEARNING We want to facilitate the growth and development of clients and employees. For this, we look at their talents and interests. We base the growing and development process on three growth lines: the individual, team and organisational growth line. PHYSICALLY STRONG AND FIT Exercise, a healthy lifestyle and being in good condition are very important for people’s well-being. This is why we strive to ensure our clients and employees are physically strong and fit. DOING BUSINESS AND CONNECTING In order to be a good community, we must connect. This is why we want to give more room to a business environment in which clients and employees can continue to nurture and develop their talents, ideas and plans.

EXPERIMENTING IS PART OF IT

The organisation looks different as well Individual control for customers and employees is very important. Individual control allows us to work on the abilities of a person and reinforce everyone’s talents. This is why we work with self-organising teams. This creates fewer barriers and less bureaucracy. All organisational components interact smoothly now. One cannot run without the other. This shows us even more how we, clients, loved-ones, employees and stakeholders need each other to make people happier and more content.

DARE TO ASK

“WE ARE JUST GOING TO DO IT!” It may all sound simple: getting the most out of people’s strength, establishing growth areas, starting to use a different language .... but it requires a lot of effort. Especially ... courage! It is possible that not everyone is ready for such a change. Does everyone understand what you mean when you say they can take a seat in the “lounge” instead of in the “waiting room”? Does everyone feel that “growing from your own strengths” is better than “getting treated”? The answer to all these questions is probably: “No!” Should we want it then and should we do it then? Our answer is a heartfelt: “YES!” This is our ambition and we are just going to do it!
