1 The viewpoint is an open pavilion that allows users to be inside and outside, in touch with nature, feeling the heat or the cold, the dryness and the humidity ... 2 The viewpoint begins to grow one meter above the level of the creek to prevent flooding in the days of maximum rainfall. To create the first viewing platform the land rises forming a gentle slope that gives access to the start of the walk around the tree. 3 Functionally, the structure is articulated by two stainless steel skins between which there is an spiral path which leads to the various points of sighting. These two skins of steel behave as one to give rigidity to the viewpoint. The path around the tree is the connector between the two skins which provides horizontal stability to the structure.

Eutrophicated water

The venice lagoon suffers from hypertrophication. This means the depletion of oxygen in the water, which induces reductions in specific fish and other animal populations. Other species experience an increase in population that negatively affects the ecosystem. It’s becoming a big piece of mud. What we propose is to dispose a series of Lagoon prototypes that will release an ecofriendly cleaning chemical that will take care of the eutrophication problem returning the balance to the environment of the lagoon. The proposal will also create a new landscape, like glowing ice melting in the pole. When the water is cleaned, the prototypes will turn green and it will be ready to go somewhere else. The devices will be like a big graphic display of the water status, as they glow from red to green, cleaning the lagoon.

Seville contemporary art centre

Seville downtown New building

The concept of the building is a display for the art. Not only a display of art as a physical product but as the set of activities around it. Contemporary art centers are businesses, like shops. Rosalind Krauss says in “art in transit - the business of the museum that the Museum is a meeting place for an specific mass culture, the culture of the mass consumption. The project can be understood as an specialized shopping center. This Contemporary art center is a factory, a shop and a residence for art students and teachers. The building has an hybrid program and it reflects the entire life cycle of the art work, since the first ideas until its exhibited or purchased.

MEXICO CITY PROJECT 2008 Mexico City, Mexico Documentary project made within the course The ecology of architecture of the Technical School of Architecture of Seville. The project is about the construction of the new highways of Mexico City car infraesturcture. A second floor above the one that runs from St. Jerónimo to Las Flores. It has become one of the contemporary symbols that adds up to the identity of the city. Narrated by Diego Suarez de la Torre, this video is an experimental expedition througout Mexico City’s highways. De la Torre is an architect which career spans for over four decades of practice in the city, and has colaborated with architects such as Barragan and Legorreta. With De la Torre I was able to develop a critical discourse around the topics of the car, the networks, the mobility and the contemporary metropoly planning and the use of public resources.

Roof garden made of precasted panels. It is equiped with longitudinal skylights that can be opened in summer nights to ventilate the store.

Tower B

The tower b is an automatic robotic warehouse to store all structures needed in order to develop the activities in the plot. Here can be found pieces for a pool, a concert or a playground for kids.

Tower A Tower A is a big warehouse with a hoist for bulky structures.

Cold warehouse The cold rooms are constructed with modular sandwich panels 20 x 100 cm dry engageable between them and allow adaptation to the maximum weft porpuesta. are 100% removable.

Shop

Warehouse

Shelf facade. The facade consists of a modular shelf, independent of the main structure to allow any kind of transformations within the plot. The shelves are completely bolted and anchored to the foundation through an anchor plate. A module is composed of four sub-modules to allow maximum adaptation. There are two types, sixty centimeters, to place products in the store, and one meter ten centimenters to store merchandise.

The enclosure is coupled just behind the shelves. In the project a glass enclosure is proposed, although in future iterations to reduce costs, any type of industrial enclosure can be used.

The outer skin of the building is hooked to the shelves. The skins is a metalic mesh with a 65% of sun tays transmission rate. It creates a shadow in front of the glass to limit the impact of the sun and subsequent heat.

IPE Beams are manufactured and produced in series. The beams are bolted to the upper base of the pillars. In the structural joints beams allow a gap for movement due to movement due to dilation.

Structure

The floor of the complex is composed of structural slip walkways smooth finish, supported on battens placed directly on special guides included in the foundation pieces.

The pillars are assembled inside the hollow parts of the special foundations with a small clearance of 5 mm. Then the pillars are fixed with high strength mortar. The pillars are manufactured in series production with a base to top connections.

How many accessories do the researchers need today to practice their profession? Which is the space occupied by the sum of these tools? Could we combine all these actions in order to get all the necessary tools for a night before deadline? This is the starting point raised for the design of the furniture, trying to bring a new reflection in the field of furniture of everyday usage. If we think about the amount of accessories, tools, devices and other items that we need to carry out our professional work, we would be surprise. A piece of furniture for a night before a deadline is an object that organizes the actions and accessories that an architect requires. It is transportable and adaptable to all kind of spaces. From a solid piece, we start making extractions through laser cutting, getting a double reality represented by both: the full and the void. The external simple shape of the piece contrasts with the multifunctional nature of it.
