ROBOT LOVE EXHIBITION 2018

INTERNATIONAL CROSS PODIUM ART & DESIGN EXHIBITION – FALL 2018

ROBOT LOVE EINDHOVEN–2018

ROBOT LOVE IS ELECTRIFYING

ROBOT LOVE EINDHOVEN–2018

ROBOT LOVE IS UNCONDITIONAL

Care robots, industrial robots, ambient intelligence, self-driving cars. ROBOT LOVE is not merely about humanrobot relationships, but on how technological advancement can inspire us to reconceptualize ourselves as human beings.

The expanded art, design & technology exhibition critically investigates this by way of an affirmative approach to artificial intelligence, allowing for frictions to occur.

ROBOT LOVE IS TECHNOSEXUAL

ROBOT LOVE EINDHOVEN–2018

ROBOT LOVE IS INCLUSIVE

In 2018 a CYBORG CATWALK will be organized where everything is permitted and anything is possible. Artists, cyborgs and fashion designers will participate together with a vanguard of brain-controlled

exoskeletons, robotic limbs, transgenders, sensory applications and cyborg coutures. Our merging with robots might radically change our perspective on normality.

ROBOT LOVE EINDHOVEN–2018

ROBOT LOVE TILL SYSTEM FAILURE DO US PART Disruptive technologies urge us to reconceptualize what it is to be human while we are merging with machines. We cannot yet grasp how robots and AI perceive the world. Trust, imagination, positivity and

responsiveness towards radical other beings are needed in order to build rapport. This opens up the possibility to (re)consider the un-accountable, the un-decidable, the un-definable. Just like love.

ROBOT LOVE IS EVERYWHERE

Can we share love with robots? How do we create the perfect environment where people and robots feel safe and loved? How close can we get and how far can we go? ROBOT LOVE explores what love brings us in the context of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

ROBOT LOVE presents a highly topical theme: what does it mean to be human within the context of robotics and AI, and how to preserve certain distinctive qualities as humans merge with machines?

There is already a tendency to see ourselves as quantitative machines. Meanwhile, in order to become human aware, robots need to incorporate typical human qualities. Qualities such as emotion, intuition, and most of all love. Now that human-like machines are entering the domestic sphere, AI may act as a mirror allowing us to delve deeper into ourselves and the current state of society. ROBOT LOVE urges us to ask: how can we learn from robots about love?

The large scale exhibition presents the work of 60 international artists and designers working at the cutting edge of art, technology and social change,

including Matthew Barney, Bart Hess, Roger Hiorns, Hito Steyerl, Philippe Parreno and LA Raeven. A lavishly illustrated book accompanies the event with a collection of exploratory and persuasive essays by renowned scientists and authors such as Margaret Atwood, Reza Negarestani, Katarina Kolozova and Tobias Revell. Readers are made aware of science fiction becoming science fact at an extremely fast pace.

Can we learn from robots about love?

ROBOT LOVE EINDHOVEN–2018 ROBOT LOVE is a largescale, international, cross podium art & design exhibition in Eindhoven, accompanied by Cyborg Catwalks, dance, theatre, performances, residencies, workshops, lectures, conferences, community works and installations in the fall of 2018. Disruptive technologies urge us to reconceptualize what it is to be human while we are becoming cyborgs in symbiosis with machines. The project investigates this by way of an affirmative approach towards shared awareness, agency and intelligence, allowing for frictions to occur. We cannot yet grasp how robots and Artificial Intelligences (AI) perceive the World. Generosity, trust, imagination and responsiveness towards radical other beings are needed in order to build rapport. It opens up the possibility to consider the unaccountable, the un-decidable, the un-definable. Just like love.

NIET NORMAAL FOUNDATION Inspired by artists, thinkers and end users the Niet Normaal Foundation closes the gap between public and politics and seeks the power that makes us citizens rather than consumers. The projects narrate, lure visitors from their comfort zone and offer them a perspective for action. www.nietnormaal.nl Torenallee 34 6de etage / 5617 BD Eindhoven info@robotlove.nl / +31 6 33 09 13 22
