RESULTS 2012/13 The A level pass rate rose to over 97%. The biggest improvement was in higher grades. There were 23 A* grades, almost double the previous year’s result, despite the fact that the percentage nationally has fallen. Vocational qualifications such as BTECs and childcare diplomas are equally well valued by universities and employers and the college is delighted with its outstanding performance in this area. At level 1 there was a 100% pass rate with 97% at levels 2 and 3. At level 3, equivalent to A levels, the percentage of students achieving triple starred distinctions – the highest grade available – was 11% (41 students) and overall there was 42% distinction grades (these are equivalent to A grades at A level). All of these students, and the many more with merits overall, had no difficulty getting into the university of their choice.
