Small Business Innovation Research Physical Protection Project title GOSAFER BSS Holland in cooperation with Parosha Innovators and Thales The Netherlands
The project This project envisages the development of a generic unmanned robotic vehicle for use by fire and the ambulance services and which can play an important role in accident and disaster response. This new unmanned vehicle will assist during: • The 'survey' phase: the critical exploration required in every disaster. Here on-‐board cameras and sensors will provide a crucial overview of the situation • The ‘response’ phase: the risky and exhausting repression process. In such scenarios the vehicle can be deployed effectively and immediately in order to support first responders.
innovation. BSS supports government public safety departments, listed companies, organisations in the vital infrastructure, and suppliers of innovative security products and services. BSS is cooperating in this project with Parosha Innovators and Thales The Netherlands for the purpose of systems integration and production of the platform, sensors, communications and autonomous operating systems.
The project, entitled ‘GO SAFER' (Generic Operating Surveyor And Emergency First Response), is focused on creating a safer working environment for first responders in emergency and disaster response. The purpose of the project is to build a prototype for the Dutch fire department. The GO SAFER robotic platform, which can be equipped with a wide variety of sensors and tools, is intended to be both affordable for the emergency services and wholly suitable for all planned-‐for emergency and disaster scenarios in the Netherlands.
