t’s been a hectic first quarter, and there are no indications that things will slow down any time soon. Some big changes have been happening behind the scenes, and we will be revealing them in due time. For starters, Jeanna and Calvin have semi-retired. Raymond Kim and I have taken over the daily operations of Richway & Fuji Bio. Jeanna and Calvin will still be a part of Richway, but they will not be as active or involved as they were in the past. This year, we will be releasing the long awaited Biomat Aroma Stand™. Practicing Mindfulness with the Biomat® By Salina Storozuk
magine this – you are hiking through a tropical rainforest. The sunlight warms your face as it peaks through the rich green foliage surrounding you. As you take a deep breath of fresh moist air, and the scent of ginger flowers fill your nose, the sounds of nature serenade you. Crickets and birds are chirping; a running stream gurgles on by. After a generous time, you’ve left all your worldly cares behind, and you happen upon a magnificent waterfall. A cascade of fresh spring water falls from far above a rocky facade and pounds onto the rocks below where a pristine pool has formed. The sunshine brilliantly spotlights this wonderful view! You sigh and take it all in. You sit alone facing this spectacle close enough to feel the raw energy of water falling onto the rocks, and the fresh mist gently spraying your cheeks and chest. You take a deep and satisfying breath in. As you exhale slowly, you feel invigorated and alert yet deeply relaxed and carefree. You settle into a deeply grateful meditation, sitting, gazing at this waterfall, for the simple pleasure of being immersed in nature. You sit for what seems like hours, losing all track of time and sense of self; you get into the flow, feeling at one and at peace with all that exists. Ahhhh…blissful meditation. This is what a perfect spontaneous meditation would feel like. It may be possible to re-create such a scene if you live close to a pristine rainforest. But for most of us, it’s almost impossible. Even if you are not a meditator or intentionally practicing mindfulness, such an experience in nature is a universal human desire. We all need to let go and release stress both physically and mentally. The refreshing elements we encounter in natural environments are the perfect antidote to stress to keep our selves balanced and maintain well-being overall. As a business owner and a teacher of yoga and meditation, I also need to maintain balance and wellbeing. I am fortunately one of those lucky ones who could pop out for a hike and happen upon a waterfall. However, it’s less of a regular practice than I’d like to admit. I rarely get out to hike as my schedule keeps me pinned down to a city-bound lifestyle, fighting traffic, working crazy hours, and doing my best to continue to grow as an entrepreneur.

So, when I was introduced to the Biomat®, I was thrilled. You see, I have spent over a decade of practicing yoga and meditation in natural environments, in the outdoors, under the sun, under a tree and often under the starry night sky. I have the experiential understanding of what it’s like to have a connection to the earth element and the fresh outdoor air. Having spent many years meditating in India, where most of our sessions were under a moonlit sky or the sun’s rays, I feel most at home when I’m able to be meditating outside. The Biomat® experience is like bringing the outdoors and the best conditions nature could ever provide into my own home. It’s the technology that is a god-send to those of us with busy lives, who value nature and are looking to destress through deep relaxation or a mindfulness meditation practice.

Meditation and deep relaxation… why? You may be asking yourself why meditate in the first place? Or, if you’re a regular meditator, why do it on a Biomat®? Well, to address both questions, I’d first like to offer a simple definition of meditation. Meditation is the act of sitting or being still in an awake, aware and relaxed position. You cultivate stillness and quietude within yourself, to allow for more peace and calm within both your body and mind. Far from being a religious or spiritual practice, meditation can simply be considered “destressing,” “me time,” or even “down time.” Certainly, meditation is used by some in religious or spiritual practices, but it not necessary to be a spiritual or religious person to practice meditation. To an extent, meditating and
mindfulness are interchangeable. However, meditating means more, so set aside more time to sit or take a relaxed position and be still and quiet. Mindfulness can refer to being conscious in a caring way of everything we do in our daily lives. For example, instead of letting a door slam behind you, you’d mindfully close the door so as it doesn’t slam. What’s fascinating is that by naturally finding the time to meditate on a regular basis, you will be more mindful in your daily life. Whether it be in relationships, at work, and anything else you do every day. It’s like your meditation practice spills over into living a mindful lifestyle. Meditation can also be practiced to simply de-stress, unclutter the mind, emotions and physical tensions of the body. Much like we clean our living space, we can use this silent time to clear and clean our mind
and body of stress. Stress is not bad, but when it accumulates, just like clutter in a home, it can become detrimental and lead to conditions that are unhealthy in our body or mind. If meditation or mindfulness are not your cup of tea, then deep relaxation will be. Universally, we all need sleep and rest. Unlike sleep, deep relaxation is when you consciously relax the body in a lying down position. This is the rest our bodies and minds are craving. You can deeply relax anywhere from ten minutes to over an hour by lying down in a comfortable position and consciously relaxing your body and mind without falling asleep. It’s what I call the lazy man’s version of meditation. Whether you meditate or not, everyone should do it, every
day. It’s not “taking a nap.” The point is you lay down awake and alert, but practice a deep relaxation, consciously letting go of tension of both the body and the mind especially as you exhale. The results are incredible — you feel as if you’d gotten the best night’s sleep ever and feel like you’ve hit the re-set button on yourself! Finally, while you lay down or sit upright in meditation, you can also practice positive visualization. This means simply imagining the positive outcomes you desire in life, as if they are occurring in that moment. It’s like watching a movie of yourself, living the life of your dreams in your mind’s eye. This is a nice way to keep the mind occupied while meditating or deeply relaxing. By channeling your thoughts in a positive direction,
you combat negative thinking and relax your the body. The Biomat® has assisted me with my meditation practice and deep relaxation, which I do between 10 to 45 minutes a day and sometimes several times a day. Sitting or lying on the Biomat® for meditation is where both the focus and the relaxation that create the right conditions for an enjoyable and effective meditation really come into play. Just by having a Biomat® reminds and encourages me to do my meditation and relaxation practices, which even I sometimes forget to do with my busy schedule. The Biomat®’s physical presence itself has helped me continue and deepen a consistent meditation practice which I can attest to as the core of my health and vitality in life.

The Biomat®…how it helps with meditation When I sit or lay on the Biomat® for meditation, deep relaxation or positive visualization, these are the three main points that I feel benefit me: 1. Infrared rays: destressing and healing the body from the warmth of the amethyst crystal rays. 2. Negative ions: for refreshing and invigorating energy produced from the Biomat®’s tourmaline or “TOCA” layer. 3. The first time I laid on the Biomat® to destress after a long 12-hour work day, I felt the warmth of the infrared rays penetrate deep into my body to rejuvenate and refresh my system. After 60 minutes of laying and relaxing on the mat, I felt so calm and healed, on a physical and mental level. Infrared heat improves blood circulation in the body, so I felt I had more energy and that my sore muscles and fatigue were gone after using the Biomat®. When I sit upright on the Biomat®

I feel that being on the Biomat® helps me to feel grounded in my meditation practice. It’s as if I were sitting under a beautiful tree on the grass meditating outside. EMF’s are not the body’s best friend, but they are a byproduct of electronics and modern technology and are unfortunately a part of our daily lives. However, times are changing, and we are starting to recognize that we are not machines; nature is our source for healing and recharging; and real burn out ensues when we don’t take that time to recharge. Modern culture, and its message to continue to be busy at the cost of our health, is no longer panning out in our own personal experience. We feel it in our achy bones, our hectic minds, and our fatigued bodies. We all need deep rest, rejuvenation and healing from what our busy modern lives require of us. Life can be lived with purpose and meaning without burnout and even more effectively when we take the time necessary to recharge and love our bodies and minds back into peaceful health and balance. You can maintain and bolster your health and wellbeing through simple rest, or with the practice of meditation and stillness on the Biomat® which can exponentially grant you what nature would have for you-- health, wellbeing and a peaceful calm in our bodies and minds. I love using the Biomat® daily as a literal foundation upon which I now practice meditation and deep relaxation techniques. I encourage you to find nature in your own indoor space by using a Biomat® to meditate and relax on each day – you deserve it! STEP 1 SIT COMFORTABLY Choose a place where there is peace, quiet, and good ventilation (if indoors) - a place where you won’t be disturbed. Lay the Biomat® out and sit comfortably on it. You should not endure any pain. Think “good posture.” Sit with your spine upright, a broad chest, shoulders relaxed back and down. You will benefit by sitting up higher on a supportive cushion if you’re seated cross legged on the floor (even using pillows as a cushion under your seat can work if you don’t have an official meditation cushion). If sitting on the Biomat® is not comfortable for you, you may also sit in a chair or stool. Try not to lean back into the chair’s backrest or the wall unless necessary. Let your spine naturally keep you seated upright. If sitting is not possible for you at all, you may also lie down on the Biomat® to meditate.

STEP 2 RELAX AND BE STILL Your body is an integral part of meditation. As you prepare to meditate, view your body as your friend and take care of it with love and kindness. You can do so by gently stretching the body to release any tension.

Take three deep breaths into a softened belly. Inhale and exhale deeply. With those three initial breaths, release all the tension from the body and the mind. With each breath let yourself settle and relax into your seat. Now, let
Physical stillness and comfort are key to meditation. Close your eyes, or keep them slightly open, gazing down at the floor with a soft unfocused gaze. Once you find that comfortable place of stillness, start your timer.
Remain still throughout the meditation. Resist the urge to fidget, scratch an itch or move at all.
STEP 3 TIME This is important. By setting a timer you are more likely to commit to sitting still and resist distractions. Start with five to ten minutes. Gradually, work your way up to 30 minutes or more once you establish consistent practice. 20 minutes a day is a nice and realistic amount of time for daily meditation. Itâ€™s best to meditate first thing in the morning because your mind is fresh and distractions are limited. If you are not able to meditate in the morning, you can mediate anytime throughout the day or evening.

STEP 4 FOCUSED BREATHING There are many styles and techniques of meditation. Practicing focused breathing is simple and easy for beginners. In this style, we calm the mind by focusing exclusively on our natural breathing rhythm. Simply observe each breath as it naturally goes in and out of the body from one of three spots: the nostrils, the chest or the lower abdomen. Choose one place that is easiest for you to notice your breath. Observe your breathing at that spot for the entire duration of your meditation. Without judging or attempting to change your breathing pattern, simply notice all of the sensations of your breath at that spot. Whether it be the gentle movement of the chest or abdomen or the temperature and feeling of the breath as it passes through the nostrils. The key is to simply pay attention to all the details and sensations of your breath at that one spot. If your mind wanders off, draw your awareness firmly back to focusing on the breath. The tendency of the mind to wander off in thought is natural and should not be judged. It is just the nature of the mind. However, the essence of practicing this type of meditation is to firmly redirect your awareness each time you notice yourself wandering off in thought and to develop the skill of staying focused on the breath.

STEP 5 AWARENESS When your timer goes off, use the last moments to release all of your effort and focus from breathing and open yourself to a broader sense of awareness. Allow yourself to surrender and enjoy the moment. Be observant and see what you notice. This is the space where you may receive insights, inspiration and the ability to enjoy yourself fully. In meditation, joy and relaxation are just as important as focus and concentration. Enjoy your own inner peace and calm! You will get better at this the more you practice. Although this technique can be difficult or seem boring at first, it can bring a sense of calm and relaxation to the mind, and can translate to being more calm and focused in your daily life. It takes time to enjoy this technique, but anyone can do it. if you so choose, itâ€™s a great starting point to a lifelong meditation practice.

n the east coast of the United States, Diamond Executive Virginia Biasizzo spent her childhood living 20 feet from the ocean.
“The horizon, the waves, the ebb and flow, the storms and the peace it brought when the sun was rising or setting was magnificent! The ocean provided me with a sense of calm and security, offering a gentle safe-haven for me to feel deep empathy. I can’t imagine growing up without that safety net to fall back on,” said Virginia. As a young woman, Virginia’s inquisitive nature leads her searching for a deeper understanding of the unknown phenomena she was experiencing. “I wanted to understand why I felt so deeply for others, and why I could see colors on people when my friends couldn’t.” Her first stop was the city’s libraries.

“Back in the day, University Libraries were accessible without school IDs, so I scoured the shelves to understand human nature and the mind-body connection,” Virginia recalled.
“Teaching about the [bodies] subtle energy incites a new level of awareness for people to learn and grow with. This is my passion and has been for more than thirty years,” she said.
By chance, she came across a woman who was in the process of writing her thesis in linguistics translating ancient Sanskrit in Harvard’s Widener Library. At the age of 14, the woman taught her about yoga and chakras.
Virginia believes that everyone needs to learn about these energies because, by doing so, we can grow to become a more conscientious civilization where people thrive and peace reins over the planet.
“This encounter led me to delve deeper into the ancient teachings and uncover depths of information on human energy that would lead me on my journey to selfdiscovery igniting my passion to share these buried teachings with the world,” said Virginia.
“Peacefulness begins within the heart and mind of everyone. The more we help individuals, the more likely we will transform the frequency of the planet. I am a firm believer we are all connected,” explained Virginia.
Looking back, Virginia attributes the woman to opening her world to a new level of possibilities. Since then Virginia has continued to learn, research and teach various energy technologies including Rife, Orgone, Quantum Lasers and Bio Feedback devices.

She continues to be fascinated with energy technology because “the conscious mind is only capable of seeing a minute fraction of what is in our field. The fact that we are only aware of this minor facet of something larger (quantum physics) blows me away. By educating on the bio electrical field, it helps people understand
how the body is assembled and how we are connected through the ether’s so to speak, “ she said. Virginia’s goal is to honor the path of everyone where they are and to guide those ready to enhance their vitality into a greater state of ease, so they can truly do the work they were meant to do in this gift of a life time. To support her endeavors, Virginia’s goal is to establish a self-sustaining secondary income with Richway. To counter this, she has created her own brochures for her downline to use.

Read up on Negative ions and far infrared. Learn the technology and find language to share what you learn.
What do you do to build relationships with customers? I share an experience and listen to what they are saying. Many people think they want one thing, but they all really want to understand themselves better. I empower people to make better choices for their wellness to thrive. I think they appreciate it especially when I share from my heart.
What do you do when times are difficult?
I snap out of it and count my Blessings. Attitude of Gratitude is key! Each day I wake and set an intention via gratitude and appreciation. This sets the tone for my day. I rarely feel saddened by life and if I do, I accept how I feel, honor it, observe it and let it go on its way. Feeling is key. If I’m not feeling then I know I’m off kilt.

The Beginner’s Guide to Link Building In our last issue, we shared an article about search engine optimization (SEO) by our friends at the MOZ. The article explains how important SEO is to draw traffic to any website. Another factor discussed in the article was the importance of link building. A simple way to describe link building is this - website A links to website B. Google’s algorithm calculates website A giving a positive vote to website B. The more you have, the more Google understands your sites worth and ranks it accordingly. Aside from good content, link building is an important factor to understand if you want to rank near the top of any search engine.
