Verde is an innovative solution to a growing problem, as rapid urbanization takes up space that otherwise would be inhabited by nature. This, coupled with today’s rapidly increasing concern for personal health has created demand for an easyto-use, custom green wall installation system that will allow city-dwellers to not only grow their own indoor plant, herbs, and vegetables but also breathe a breath of nature within what would otherwise be a stifling environment.

The Verde app controls two light settings 10:00via PMeasy-to-ON use automatic and manual setting. The light system OFF 11:00 PM cycles from user-friendly LED indoor lighting, to more + alarm efficient plant growing UV night-lights.

MODULES

Verde is a modular system; it is capable of a multitude of arrangements and a high level of customization.

Water trays flip and double as shelving units– this not only gives the product versatility but also facilitates integration into existing environments.

The product is composed of three main components; the wall, which provides both mounting points and power; the planter pots, which can also be attached in groups; and the light poles, which provide the indoor light source.

The raised backs on the plant trays protect the surface of the mounted wall from dirt and spills.

ENGINEERING

The mechanism for attaching each module to the wall is composed of a male and female component that mate in a fashion to allow each unit to bear significant weight.

Insert into the female half (wall side) of the connection is a rubber o-ring which provides the friction needed to lock in each module and also seals the connection, preventing water from entering the electrical components.

Light unit consists of an array of grow-light spec. LEDs in combination with natural-warm LEDs, switchable via the user interface in the digitial app.

The soil bed is kept hydrated by the user recycling lefover water, and overflow is collected below. Verde recommends regularly fertilising the soil to ensure maximum yield.

The tray extensions provide the user with an option of increasing depth to grow plants with deeper roots, or even root plants such as potatoes & carrots.

The perforated main tray separates soil from water collection tray. The holes arrayed on the bottom are custom sized to allow a steady capillary action to keep the soil moist, but do not allow soil to fall through into the water tray.

Water is conserved in the system through a closed environment that prevents evaporation.

The water tray not only serves to collect excess water but also integrates a water sensor that notifies the user in the event that the water level has fallen below what is required by the plant.
