“Understanding the person or people living in a home is a far greater need in design than focusing purely on the aesthetics. The home is de-–Harry Seidler signed around emotional needs.” Amanda Talbot

"Good design doesn't date"

After building my house, renovating restaurants and a coffee shops, I understood Interior Design was my path to take. I have worked for 15 years in Hospitality (hotels and restaurants), and I know how to organise a space, to be functional for hospitality operators and aesthetically pleasant for customers. My dream is to embark on a commercial interior design career and bring all my experience on board.

01 PROJECTS OVERVIEW

DESIGN APPROACH I believe every building carries its own soul, nurtured by the poeple that have created it. My approach to design is always very respectful of this idea. The external building has been preserved in its original shape, colours, and beauty. It was just looking at it that I have got the idea of turning it into an Art Deco Boutique Hotel, to continue speaking that language of the 1920s to every guest coming in town either for a short trip or a longer stay

COMMERCIAL PROJECT

01 THE GADABOUT HOTEL Warehouse conversion into a boutique Hotel 62-64 Kingstone Road, Camperdown MY ROLE IN THE PROJECT interior Designer

Concept Board Blast from the Past What if, for a spare moment, I can imagine to go back in time? Breaking the distance between present and past, as easy as breaking a wall and pass through it, to travel in time , right back when we were twenty years of age? A Blast from the past, a revival of a 100 years old era?

Conceptual Thinking Mirroring conceptual models to study the negative space in between, the light effects given by a translucent material. Plastic bottle, light wires and foam bord have been used to realize it . The image in between represents my way to be in twoplaces at the same time, one phisically, the other one mentally . Let`s bring my spirit into the 1920s era ...
