At Riot Squad, we focus heavily on research before embarking on any development project by using a combination of consumer focus groups, professional focus groups, flavour trend analysis and working closely with our worldwide partners on every flavour project. This enables us to design a flavour brief for our Development team using qualitative and quantitative data to

ensure a successful flavour, every time.

STAGE 2 DEVELOPMENT Once the research has concluded, a flavour brief is handed over to our Development team of experienced organic chemists and sensory analysts to develop the research brief to a flavour concept. Dependant on the flavour brief, different methodology and techniques will be used; if the brief is to match a specific variety of apple, for example, a combination of solvent extraction techniques and headspace analysis would be used to prepare a sample. This sample would then be analysed using our state-of-theart in house GC-MS (Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, an analytical instrument) to decipher the individual aroma molecules inside the apple. Once the individual components have been determined, the flavour profile would be built-up from the molecules to match the

consumed flavour of the apple in a vapour form.

We have a 3 stage policy of consumer testing prior to releasing any product: •

Stage 1 - In house flavour panel, selecting the best 10 flavour variants of each concentrate developed and assessing them against our strict flavour quality parameters.

Stage 2 - Sending the 10 flavour variants to an independent sensory analysis facility who source candidates (minimum 100 candidates per flavour) to give validity on the suitability for end use. Stage 3 - We utilise our influencer network and send unbranded samples of the developed products along with online surveys, and ask the influencers to score the product against specific parameters. This enables us to quantify and gauge the consumers’ response to the product.

We are committed to producing e-liquid to the highest standards practicably achievable. We manage this by using quality raw materials; continuous improvement of our processes and procedures; and the experience and expertise of our employees. Manufactured at our 11,000m2 facility in Milton Keynes, UK, our e-liquid is produced in GMP Grade cleanrooms using food and pharmaceutical grade ingredients. With close relationships with the finest molecule suppliers and bespoke mixing methodology, we ensure full and consistent flavour infusion in every formulation. All our bespoke patented (US D836457 S, EU 004002350-001) bottles are manufactured by Chubby Gorilla Inc, the gold standard of bottles for E-Liquids, which are CRC tested for automated production line.
