Make Up Tips

TO FRAME AND SHAPE B E AUTY TO SUIT EACH FACIAL STRUCTURE

AND PERSONALITY, AS NO TWO PEOPLE ARE ALIKE AND PERSONALIZED STYLE IS A MUST IN M AKE-UP LUXURIOUS ART.

Make Up Tips

1. You Should change your foundation shade depending on the season. 2. Surgery is not the only option to achieve the look you want. Make up is a cheaper way to correct imperfections and overflows. 3. Make up will look different in artificial light than in daylight, so you should

apply your makeup under the same lighting conditions you’ll be dealing with later. 4. Matte makeup is more of an evening finish ,because it looks done, while dewy is perfect with minimal makeup for day and especially on weekends 5. Bleaching your brows can “open up” the face 6. Putting powder over the top of the first coat of lipstick reapplying will help it last longer

Skin Care Tips

1. The size of our pores is the result of genetics, so some people just have smaller pores than others 2. Pimple squeezing will lead to possible infections or scarring . Remedies : apply a product with salicylic acid , bensoyl peroxide, camphor, or zinc oxide twice a day ( local application ) 3. Keep your face clear without exfoliating your skin too much. 4. Again and again wash your face twice daily, morning and even

Why My Back Hurt? The statement that back injuries tend to be difficult to cure can be a myth in many cases. We can help guide our patients and pave a pathway to recovery from their back disorders. A back disorder may develop over a period of time or a patient may actually have a sudden onset of back pain. There may be one specific incident or known injury such as a fall, motor vehicle accident, direct trauma, or the back injury may be the cumulative result of one or all of the following: Poor posture Poor Posture Poor posture is one of the leading causes of back pain. You can help prevent or even help cure a back disorder by trying to improve your postural awareness and by making changes in your activities of daily living. Listed below are some useful tips to remember: Correct sitting and standing postures are one and the same; head and shoulders erect and balanced, stand up straight and look straight ahead. Do not sit or stand for long periods of time (take periodic rest breaks and change positions as needed). Always position yourself close to your work and work at a comfortable height. Always practice good posture and proper body mechanics.

Faulty Body Mechanics Faulty body mechanics involves improper lifting techniques. One must maintain proper posture and keep objects close to the body. One must use the strong muscles of the lower extremities to perform the lift instead of bending at the waist and using the lower back. Do not twist while lifting and obtain assistance if needed.

Stressful Living Conditions and Poor Work Habits This may aggravate the symptoms of back pain and may even create a flare-up of pain following periods of increased tension. Utilizing stress management is an important tool to help improve emotional factors in one's life. Most individuals will cope better by understanding the nature of their injury and taking the appropriate steps necessary to eliminate back pain and provide for a healthy back.

Exercise Exercising aerobically 3 to 5 times weekly and maintaining good strength and flexibility are the keys to having a strong and healthy back. Generally, people in poor physical condition tend to be more vulnerable to back injuries than those who maintain a high level of physical fitness. One of the most important components of good health is C o n c l u s i o n Back problems can be prevented most of the time. It is certainly easier to prevent a back injury by taking the appropriate measures. Patient education is one of the most effective tools in preventing back injuries. Patients can be taught to understand what their back problems are, how to prevent them, and what to do if they occur. Self responsibility and a desire to have a healthy back is the first step to success!!

Talk Show Ends and Oprah Moves on

Who is Oprah ?

The 21st century… the century of internet, of satellite TV’s of revolutions of mobile phones of tsunamis of climate changes…and definitely the century of Oprah Winfrey. Oprah, a name that made it place in the history of media pioneers…we can state names of pioneers in many fields such as economics, social sciences, politics…but one single name made the difference in the media field…Oprah. When we talk about Oprah, we are not just talking about the most popular, the most famous, the richest and the most influential woman ever…when we talk about Oprah we talk about media. A difficult childhood prepared her for a brilliant future…poverty enriched her and made her as exceptional as she is now, and the marks of violence on her body were nothing

but traces so that she would remember that she already settled her dues for the shining star that she will become.

On the 29th of January 1954, Oprah Gail Winfrey was born to a single mom in a very modest village of the Mississippi. Originally, she was named Orpah after a biblical character, yet no one was able to pronounce it right…and all her acquaintances and relatives started calling her Oprah! She lived in total poverty…supper couldn’t find its way to her table every night…and the fireplace lacked of woods to warm her hours of darkness. Yet she learned how to keep her heart at warmth by feeding it with ambition… Her grandmother was very severe and taught her how to read before even heading to school. At the age of 5, she was known as the preacher, since she was very smart and able to recite Bible verses. Her wardrobe back then, was made of potato sacks… she wore them proudly cause she knew deep down that one day she would dress up with silk and expensive outfits. At the age of 6 she moved with her mother who was working as a maid to another village. Oprah, had had two half sisters that her mother named Patricia so she won’t bother herself by remembering 2 different names. And in order to lessen the expenses of the household, she gave away one of them to adoption. As per the other one, she lived with the family till she passed away due to overdose in 2004. Oprah’s mother had had also a son from a fourth man…and he died of AIDS.

Her mother was so harsh on her…Oprah led a life of sorrow and bitterness. Her days were about poverty and hunger and her nights were long horrible nights of sexual abuse from her cousin, her uncle and their neighbor. When she talked about being molested, nobody believed her. So she decided to state her case on air, telling the truth to millions of people who listened to her show, believed her and believed in her. She had a strong personality and was well known and loved by all her classmates. As she continues to be molested by her uncle, his son and their neighbor she got pregnant and gave birth at the age of 14 to a dead baby. She started her career at a local radio for Afro-Americans where she was assigned to deliver the news as a part time job. This step was not to surprise her grandmother who always considered her as being a good preacher. Her comments and her promptitude made her audience in love with her. In 1986, she had her own afternoon show in a more important radio station. in 1983, she headed to Chicago leaving behind her a dreadful past full of nightmares…a hurtful past tattooed on every inch of her violated skin. she started hosting a half hour morning show entitled AM Chicago. She was soon loved by the audience and became part of their lives. And from the half hour morning show to a one hour morning show, and from AM Chicago to the Oprah show, the little girl was becoming a star. Eloquent, extremely skilled, captivating presence and an unpreceded creativity sum the characteristics of the brilliant Oprah Winfrey. In 1985, she starred in The Color Purple, a movie by Steven Spielberg that shed the light on the life of Afro-Americans. She also produced it as a theatre play in 2004. from the radio, she started to work in televisions aiming for more audience, more fame… and so it was, she entered every house, she was on the covers of magazines, she was the centre point of conversations between friends, politicians and all the world. She became one of the richest women of the world…a producer, a magazine owner and a political veteran especially when she backed up president Obama…some even say that she was behind his success in the elections. She is the most influential woman in America and a role model for millions there. She was in presence of kings and leaders of the world. Celebs never mind to be put on a waiting list just to be on her show. She is well known to be honest, straight forward, daring and extremely modest. Her show is extraordinary, polyvalent and for all. Oprah is now a millionaire. She stated that she would rather not have children since her mother did not teach her how to be a mom. She gives advices to the Americans, she stands up for Women, Black People, Minorities, homosexuals, poor and oppressed individuals. Ranked by CNN as the most powerful person in the world, she is the number one media person in the history of the field. A new word is added to the English dictionary that is Oprahfication meaning to follow Oprah’s way in dealing with things and it means also confessing in public as a form of therapy. In 2002, Christianity Today Magazine published an article with a neologism entitled the church of O, admitting that Oprah is a spiritual leader since she was the most capable of changing people’s lives. President Bush asked her to be his media consultant and to give a speech to soldiers in Afghanistan. She refused the offer but decided to address the army through her show as she considered it to be more powerful than the president himself. Oprah was named as the most charitable person. Her donations were estimated till 2004 by 330 million dollars. Today, Oprah is calling it quits, she is retiring while she is still shining like a star… a role model or a complex for the generations to come…the future will tell us more about the touch of Oprah Winfrey!

THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW‌‌. ENDED in Chicago, the city Oprah Winfrey is abandoning, life is pretty sure to continue as normal. Expect the pizza to be as tasty and the gusts off Lake Michigan to be as persistent on Thursday as they were the day before. This is not to say change isn't in the wind. As everybody knows, "The Oprah Winfrey Show" is ending Wednesday after a spectacularly successful, quartercentury run, and the air is thick with "we-shall-not-see-its-likes-again" eulogies. Understandable. After being a long fixture on daytime TV as well as in the national psyche, it may be hard for us to imagine how the 60-minute void Oprah is leaving can be filled. (Though it won't need to be filled until September. "Oprah" reruns will air on most stations throughout the summer months, helping viewers through their process of withdrawal.) The closest thing to an heir apparent seems to be "Dr. Oz," the Winfrey-produced talk show whose star, Dr. Mehmet Oz, one of Winfrey's proteges. In many markets he's being rewarded with the 4 p.m. slot where "Oprah" reigned for so long. But there is no clear consensus. In a few markets, the former "Oprah" station will forgo any syndicated replacement and instead launch an added hour of local news. In short, these are big shoes to fill as Oprah Winfrey walks away. Of course, her leave-taking has caught no one by surprise. She made it official in November 2009, declaring that "the countdown to the end of `The Oprah Winfrey Show' starts now." At the time, I invited Oprah fans to get an early start on the grieving process as they began planning how to deal with the loss. I noted that, for a generation, Winfrey "has been our moral arbiter, lifestyle coach and window on the world. "How then," I posed, "will we manage without Oprah as a daily TV reference point? How will we know what to read, buy or think? On the other hand, as Oprah walks away, how far is she really walking? Granted, she'll reside 1,800 miles from Chicago, in Santa Barbara, Calif. But she will not be silent nor invisible. Her 5-month-old cable channel, OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, is meant to be a round-the-clock, always-open source of Oprah-nalia, with Winfrey its spiritual curator maintaining a constant presence, even from off-camera. Since its Jan. 1 sign-on, the network has suffered from lower-than-expected ratings, and, early this month, fired its CEO. But it's just getting started, and, with the end of her syndicated show, Winfrey plans to devote her full energies to OWN. As one of the network's future offerings she will star on "Oprah's Next Chapter," whose title signals how she views her ambitious new TV venture overall. And though most of OWN's programming won't be hosted by her, everything will be vetted by her to make sure the message fits into her live-your-best-life gospel. The "Oprah" commercial asks: "Where were you?" And its unspoken but obvious subtext elevates the Winfrey show's exit to the lofty ranks of those TV milestones. You will want to be there (it seems to be saying), gathered with your loved ones in front of the TV, where you are guaranteed an "I-was-there" memory for a lifetime when Oprah says goodbye. Tom Hanks. Michael Jordan. Tom Cruise. Madonna. Stevie Wonder. Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Beyonce. Even Winfrey's longtime but low-profile friend, Stedman Graham, was among the many luminaries on hand for the two-part "Surprise Oprah! A Farewell Spectacular." Sounds like fun, if you happen to catch it. But after that, you won't have to look hard to find Oprah. She pervades her new network. The rest of the world? It will carry on as always

The secrets

of yoga

Part one

Considering Your Option: the eight main brain branches of Yoga Here are the eight principal branches of Yoga, arranged alphabetically: -bhakti yoga : the yoga of devotion -Guru yoga : the yoga of dedication to a yoga master -hatha yoga : the yoga of physical discipline -Jnana yoga : the yoga of wisdom -karma yoga : the yoga of self-transcending action -mantra yoga : the yoga of potent sound -raja yoga: the royal yoga -tantra yoga ( including kundalini yoga ) : the yoga of continuity

Five Basic approaches to yoga Yoga as a ďŹ tness training This is the most popular way that westerners practice yoga. Its also the most radical revamping of traditional Yoga Yoga as a sport Some athletes master hundreds of extremely difďŹ cult yoga postures to perfection and demonstrate their skills and beautiful physiques in international competitions. Yoga as a lifestyle This means living yoga; practicing yoga every day , whether its physical exercises or meditation. Above all, it means applying the wisdom of yoga to everyday life and to live lucidly, that is, with awareness. Yoga as a Spiritual discipline: This is concerned with all that plus the traditional ideal of enlightenment-- that is, discovering your spiritual nature Yoga shares at least two fundamental practices : the cultivation of awareness and relaxation - awareness is the peculiarly human ability to pay close attention to something, to be consciously present, to be mindful. Yoga is attention training. - relaxation is the conscious release of unnecessary and therefore unwholesome tension in the body
