CONCEALME, PLEASE! By Riley Hagel Blog Post #4 We all have those mornings that seem to start off so wrong, it throws the rest of your day into a funk. I had one of those mornings. Not only did I wake up too late to make it to church, but my hair was a disaster and I grew a giant zit the size of a pencil eraser on my face overnight. That being said, an obvious reliance on concealer followed. I was talking to a client yesterday about what order to do foundation and concealer in. Well, in that order, to be particular! Most women will do their concealer first and their foundation next, but doing them in that order will cause you to wipe the concealer off at the same time you apply foundation. By the time you’re done, you look less concealed than before you put foundation on! To remedy this problem, simply do your foundation first and your concealer next. To blend the two colors together more effectively, use your foundation brush and gently sweep over the top of the concealed area, using whatever foundation is leftover on the brush to layer over the concealer. If you don’t have a foundation brush, use a tiny dot of foundation on your finger and gently pat it over the top. When applying concealer, do it in a patting motion, not a sweeping motion. When building layers, you don’t want to remove the first layer while you apply the second, which is exactly what the “wiping” motion will do. Instead, pat the concealer on in as many layers as you need, and use the patting motion to blend it out as well. It’ll work like a dream, I promise! With a fresh face and tamed hair (thank God!), I’m heading off to work. I’ll be picking up a Grande Iced Soy Chai, 5 pumps of Chai and 1 scoop of Vanilla Bean beforehand though! It’s the perfect summery-day treat that packs a caffeine boost I could use! Have a blessed (and concealed!) day! <3
