POLLUTION PALACE, CHINA

Sam Wilde collaborated with both the municipals of Zhuhai and Jinan, China to create a series of street art sculptures themed around the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil from the garden of Eden.

This reimagined rendition of Eden plays on the tension between the organic and the man-made. Envisioning a world where artificial fertilisers and genetically-modified crops have leaked into the ecosystem and ‘super-charged’ the environment. Causing the fruits and flowers of paradise to undergo a remarkable transformation and proliferate in abundance.

FIFTH SEASON, CHINA

In a collaboration with the municipality of Shenzhen, China, Sam Wilde has created a series of street art sculptures themed around a radioactive reimagining of The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The art installation opened in May 2025 and will be on display for three months.

Step inside a giant hedge maze alive with glowing plant forms, towering flowers and drifting islands, as Sam Wilde has created a world where nature has mutated beyond its own rules. At its centre, a vast blue monarch butter fly hovers. An omen hinting at paradise while pulsing in warning at something more toxic that lies beneath.

Part living organism, part synthetic spectacle, an artificial Eden in perpetual bloom — enticing, distorted, and impossible to trust.

CAT’S CHARADE, CHINA

Sam Wilde collaborated with both the municipals of Wuhan and Taiyuan, China to create a series of street art sculptures themed around the Cheshire Cat from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Venture down the rabbit hole and into a world of oddities where reality has been flipped on it's head. Here the themes from Wonderland have been reconceptualised, playfully intermixing both familiar and unfamiliar motifs to create a sense of delirium for visitors.

DEEPSTARIA UMBRA, ENGLAND

Sam Wilde was commissioned by the Victoria & Albert Museum to create an eco-conscious sculpture constructed from umbrellas donated by the TfL Lost Property Office for their Japan: Myths to Manga exhibition.

A commentary on the growing threat of mining exploitation and plastic pollution on the deep sea environment.

Deepstaria umbra is a fully mechanised biosynthetic lifeform born from the fusion between a deep sea jelly fish and six discarded umbrellas that floated to the ocean’s floor.

EQUI- II INSTALLATION ENGLAND

In June 2025, Sam Wilde debuted an interactive fine art pattern exhibition Equi–II at the V&A in South Kensington as part of the museum’s flagship programme curated by Kristian Volsing and produced by Adonis Fuyana and Faunsia Tucker.

Over the course of the installation, more than one thousand visitors placed their own unique wooden Frog Tessellation tile into a growing communal mural at the centre of the museum's grand hall. Placed one-by-one the tiles locked together forming a large-scale organic artwork shaped by personal choices, collective interaction and social dynamics of the crowd.
