Attention! The power of simple decisions in a distracted world Rob Hatch May 2020

272 pages

ÂŁ12.99

978-1-78860-145-0 About the Book Attention! is a practical guide for reclaiming the power of our time and attention. In a world of endless distraction, we have given away two of our most valuable assets: time and attention. Technology has given us the incredible gift of access to an ever-increasing amount of information and has opened the door to a vast array of choices and opportunities. However, having more options doesn’t correlate to an increase in our success. Research shows that having more to choose from causes anxiety and decreases our likelihood of taking action. We have become paralyzed and polarized, reacting instead of acting and ceding control of our decisions to a continuous onslaught of information, marketing, and interruption. We live in an age where we struggle to decide which information is real or fake. We find it challenging to make even the most straightforward decisions for our happiness and success in our lives and business. This book will help you reframe your relationship with the demands on your time, overcome decision fatigue, and understand the value of creating space. Rob Hatch sets out a powerful framework and flexible approach that gives you the space to focus your attention on what is important, the power to make decisions aligned with your goals, and the ability to take action with confidence.

About the Author Rob Hatch brings a unique blend of knowledge and background in the field of Human Development with his experience as a successful business leader and executive coach. His weekly newsletter is read by tens of thousands of individuals all over the world. As a speaker, trainer, and coach, Rob works primarily with business leaders and teams, guiding them through critical transitions in their organization. An experienced leader, from his foundational experience supporting Early Childhood professionals to his executive experience in organizations large and small, Rob also served as the executive director of a successful non-profit organization and was nominated to chair a critical legislative sub-committee, crafting legislation for children with Special Needs. 5

FIRST AID FOR YOUR CHILD'S MIND How to stop anxiety, fears and worries in their tracks Alicia Eaton Oct 2019

About the Book First Aid for Your Child’s Mind is designed to help parents, teachers and caregivers manage children’s fears, worries and anxieties with confidence and ease. The number of children seeking help for anxiety and mental health issues has risen sharply. Even those as young as four years old are said to be displaying signs of panic attacks, eating disorders, anxiety and depression. Most parents will readily admit that when it comes to helping children deal with feelings of anxiety and worry, they feel inadequately prepared and quite simply ‘lost for words’. It’s not surprising - after all: •

What is the best way to explain the regularly reported terrorist attacks and bombings without alarming your child? • What should you say to a child that’s witnessed a tower block fire or disaster on TV and is suffering from nightmares as a result? • How do you handle a child that’s petrified of dentists, injections, dogs, spiders or even eating vegetables? The good news is that anxiety is a very treatable condition. Enlightened psychologists will now refer to anxiety as something that’s often the result of an emotional ‘injury’ to the mind rather than a ‘disorder’ - for that word immediately suggests it’s part of a long-term problem and something to ‘suffer’. But in reality, it’s now possible to heal an emotional wound rather than leaving it to fester allowing it to turn into something much bigger. So just as our children acquire bumps and scrapes on the outside of their bodies, we shouldn’t be surprised to discover it’s also possible to acquire a few on the inside too.

About the Author Originally a Montessori Teacher, Alicia Eaton ran her own School for five years and studied at the Anna Freud Centre in London. In 2003 she went on to train as an Integrative Psychotherapist and followed this up with numerous trainings in NLP; Thought Field Therapy (TFT or Tapping); Havening Techniques; Mindfulness at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre and Childhood Obesity at the National Centre for Eating Disorders. She’s now a qualified Trainer running workshops on a variety of topics, including parenting. She has run a successful practice in London’s Harley Street for 14 years now and her unique blend of psychology and practical parenting advice means she’s the number one choice for parents when it comes to changing children’s unwanted habits and behaviours. 19
