Alexandra Our new Front of House Supervisor excelling in her new role at the George.
Promotion satisfaction After only a few days in her new position as Front of House Supervisor, Alexandra Movileanu, was surprised with an AA inspection. As with all AA visits it is done unannounced so that the inspector can see the true workings of a hotel. It was obviously the right promotion for Alexandra as the inspector’s report was full of praise for the George in particular the service which the inspector quoted as ‘Service was delivered smoothly and at times exceeding expectations at this grading’. An AA inspection marks the hotel on every aspect from the facilities to the functioning. From the moment a booking is made, either online or over the phone,
the marking starts. Its presentation, décor, facilities, cleanliness, upkeep and comfort all come under the marking scheme alongside the menu choice, the taste, the service and knowledge of staff. Obviously it is a team effort to make sure standards are maintained, from housekeeping to kitchen, maintenance to front of house and the resulting award is a credit to the whole team. However, for Alexandra it was a real pat on the back for being at the forefront of an inspection. As a result of this inspection, the hotel continues to achieve Three Stars with a Merit Score of 88% and Silver Award (there is no Gold Award for hotels).
*The only rating above silver is red which is given to hotels deemed by the AA as being the finest in the British Isles.
From the inspection report “The charming former coaching inn still impresses”
“All team members were found to be friendly and polite, especially at dinner and reception experiences” “The dishes taken, demonstrated skill, flavour balance and were well executed and remain worthy of the current Two AA Rosette Award for Culinary Excellence.”
