RIE CROWLEY Graphic & Web Designer

Having worked in Japan for four years, then come to London to marry and have two children (now aged 5 and 6 years), it has been a pleasure for me to return over the past two years on a freelance basis to the graphic and web design industry which I cherish so much. I have loved putting to use once again my talents and skills in this field. I enjoy working hard and I am self-motivating. I like working in teams, I understand the importance of working to tight deadlines, and I appreciate the need to keep clients happy and fulfil the company’s objectives. I look forward to returning to full-time work.

My position in this company was that of Senior Graphic Designer. During this period, I was responsible for the management of a team of up to 3 juniors, working for Banks, the Post office and private companies. During that period, I won a number of design tendering competitions, and also won a Premium Award as best newcomer to the company, conferred on me by the company president. I was a partner in the above firm, with responsibilities for marketing, office organisation, staffing and client liaison. A number of clients were exclusively mine, and I was responsible for their projects from inception to completion. Amongst my clients was Laforet Matsuyama, a fashion company having a chain of stores nationally throughout Japan, Circle K Shikok (comprising several hundred convenience stores), NHK Symphony Orchestra (NHK being Japan’s national broadcaster - the equivalent of BBC in UK. The foregoing involved working to exacting client requirements, on tight deadlines, and to a budget.

I worked as a web designer for the web shop in this company, during which time I renewed the whole web site design and Logo. Following that work, sales doubled on the newly-designed website.

I have a two lovely boys and I was full-time mum.
