WEdnesday, 5:30-6:30pm Dad's Big Wheel Race (Jennifer St. Bridge, SLO)

Meet at the top of the Jennifer Street Bridge and race to the bottom on the best kids’ ride you can find. You must sign a waiver before the event (18+ only). Helmets, gloves and padding optional but recommended. Place prizes and awards for Hottest Hot Wheel & Coolest Costume made possible with sponsorship from Dad. No scooters or playground bullies allowed. Any low-clearance ride will do! Hang around afterwards for refreshments at Gus's.

Wednesday, 6:30-9pm Bike Fashion Creation Night (3591 Sacramento DR. #104, SLO)

Bike Fashion Creation Night is an evening when you let your imagination go wild. Create a cool bike outfit or funkify your existing cycle gear using bike parts like inner tubes and chains (provided at the event). Vests, belts, shorts, dresses, knickers, helmets, t-shirts, and baskets are all fair game. Experienced artistes will also be available to inspire and help you execute your concept.

Thursday, 5:30pm-6:30 Kidical Mass (Mitchell park, SLO)

Join us for the family bike happening! Kidical Mass is a venue for parents to teach their kids how to ride smart. We ride through downtown SLO as a group, to share the joy of riding bicycles. Rides are open to all ages & abilities, the more the merrier as we introduce our community to the next generation of bicycle riders. The theme is superheroes. All participants are asked to ride bikes, not scooters, parents and guardians included.

Friday, 5-7pm N.Bidlake Clothing Open Studio (2074 Parker St. Ste 110, SLO)

Learn more about N.Bidlake - tailored clothing made with purpose, to move in, travel in, ride a bike in, all while maintaining its form. We will have live music, food, and drinks. Special discounts for anyone who rides their bike. More at www.nbidlake.com.

Saturday, 10AM-4pm FASTA de Mayo (1422 Monterey St., SLO)

As a way to promote our non-profit freeride trail building organization, FASTA will be hosting FREE SHUTTLES from Central Coast Brewing to the top of Cuesta Grade. We’ll showcase the legal trails we build, and recruit future volunteers. It is also a way to say thank you to all of our hardworking volunteers.

Sunday, 1-4m SLO Tweed Ride (Triangle Park, SLO)

Cycle de Mayo is a fun family event celebrating bicycling with a family ride around Atascadero Lake, Mexican food, and live mariachi bands - bring your elementary age kids, toddlers, bicycles and blankets for a day of fun and music in the park.

Meet us for a jaunt about town in your best turn of the century attire and foreign accents. We'll end at Triangle Park (Corner of Santa Barbara & Osos St.) for lawn games, iced tea and crumpets. slotweedride.com

Volunteering has its perks too, including monthly volunteer only work nights in the Bike Kitchen, invites to our volunteer appreciation events and more!

Friday, 9-11:30AM Barn to Beach Ride (Octagon Barn to Avila Beach Pier)

The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County and the SLO Bicycle Club will host a group bicycle ride from the Octagon Barn to the Avila Beach pier and back. The 15-mile ride will be at a leisurely, easy pace on mostly flat terrain to accommodate all levels of biking experience. Meet at the Octagon Barn, 1/4 mile south of the S. Higuera & Los Osos Valley Road intersection.

Join the SLO County Bicycle Coalition for the 8th Annual Bike-In Movie! We'll be showing Brave under the stars in Mission Plaza, bring a blanket and the whole family! The Bike Valet, hot drinks and popcorn all provided free.

Poker run 10AM-2PM; BBQ and bike fest 12-4PM. Hands can be purchased in advance at most local bike shops. The Poker Run (wbrpokerrun.com) is hosted by SRAM and the San Luis Obispo Rotaract Club and benefits the World Bicycle Relief organization.

The Amgen Tour of California is one of the nation’s largest and most recognized annual sporting events. This prestigious cycling road race features elite professional teams and athletes from around the world. Avila Beach marks the end of Stage 5. The Pedal to Paella is a festive ride for all ages. We’ll meet at Santa Margarita Park and ride though the back alleys of Santa Margarita making plenty of noise and mayhem. The short ride ends at The Educated Gardener (22210 El Camino Real), where we’ll be making lots of delicious Paellas. Live music will be there. Bring Paella ingredients to share with everyone, BYOB and own tableware. $ donation for the bands.

Hosted by USGBC C4. Stop by to enjoy the current exhibits as well as a special temporary show in honor of Bike Month. Admission to the event is free and all participants arriving by bicycle will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win various prizes given away that evening. Light refreshments and entertainment will be provided; beer and wine will be available to those 21 and older with a valid I.D.
