ACTIVITIES GUIDE

Winter/Spring 2013-2014

Adventure Golf & Raceway is Growing a Spring Surprise for You! (See page 16 for more)

Welcome

WINTER/SPRING 2013-14

Happy Holidays from Hyland Hills!

The Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District enjoyed a solid performance in 2013 and we are very pleased that our programs continue to be popular and well attended by you, your families, and our outside-the-area visiting guests. It is due to this wide support from the community that we are able to accomplish all that we do. Every visit you made to Water World, Adventure Golf & Raceway, the Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills, and the Ice Centre at the Promenade helped us provide the wide array of low-cost programs we are able to offer at our community centers, gymnastics center, ball fields, parks, and senior center. For 2014 we once again have planned carefully to make sure we are providing your entire family with a full Yvonne Fischbach array of indoor recreation choices to keep you busy and warm during the winter months. Please remember the Ice Centre is open year-round and the Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills and golf shop are also open year-round, weather permitting. Take your time looking through this Activities Guide as you customize a plan that fits your family’s unique schedule — and for your convenience, it is also available online at www.hylandhills.org. Residents of the District qualify for significant discounts on programs at all these facilities and you can also enjoy low-cost, fun outings and special events like Brunch with Santa, and free events like the annual Easter Egg Hunt and the North Metro Arts Alliance Wonderful Wednesday concerts that are designed to keep your family enjoying time together during the winter months. As always, the Hyland Hills Board of Directors, the staff, and I appreciate your support and participation throughout the year. We wish you all a wonderful holiday season and welcome your continued comments and input in person or via our website. — Yvonne Fischbach, Executive Director

HYLAND HILLS — CITY OF WESTMINSTER JOINT USE AGREEMENT

Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District and the City of Westminster entered into a reciprocal agreement on June 5, 1990 that allows residents of the two entities to enjoy expanded recreational opportunities. This affects over 120,000 residents of both entities. The agreement makes current resident identification cards issued by both entities virtually interchangeable. Residents can receive district rates for use of facilities and programs in both Westminster and Hyland Hills. This is a valuable opportunity for residents to be able to enjoy the best and most unique recreation facilities in the country at the lowest possible cost.

THE GREG MASTRIONA GOLF COURSES

AT H Y L A N D H I L L S

The Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills have begun a multi-year project to renovate the existing 25-50 year old irrigation system. The District hired American Golf Construction for Phase 1 of the project which includes holes 5-16 on the Gold Course. Set up for the project began in mid-September, with a scheduled completion date and final inspection scheduled for April 2014. We are very excited about this project as it will greatly improve course conditioning, plant health and irrigation efficiency.
