Recreation Program Registration The Park District offers 3 ways to register. Walk-in registration is open during business hours Mon-Thur 9-5pm and Fri 9-4pm. Online registration at www.rimrec.org is open 24/7 (online convenience fee will apply), or mail-in registration to P.O. Box 8, Rimforest, CA, 92378. For your convenience we also have a night drop box for after hours. Please make sure you complete the registration form and waiver and include payment.

Rim of the World TOT-TIME | Ongoing Pay by Month Location: Activity Room/Gym, Rimforest A parent/child program that promotes physical awareness, coordination, and social skills. Children take advantage of indoor gym space and get an introduction to sports, tumbling, group games, and sensory activities. Summer Youth Swimming Lessons with Kate at Arrowhead Ranch Pool | Pay by Session Bring a towel and come ready to swim! Kate Bell has been teaching swimming lessons on the mountain for over 35 years. Kate and her assistant conduct lessons in a challenging yet rewarding approach, so children retain the importance of water safety and the different swimming styles. Kate must approve all level promotions. Spaces are extremely limited and fill up quickly. Note: No Refunds & No Bad Weather Make-ups. Summer Youth Theatre Camp | Pay by Session

This is not your average theatre camp, the goal is to empower kids with the ability to self and collectively generate their own plays! A group creation through theatrical exploration. This is a five-day theatre camp taught by artist Hailey Jones. Through guided play, kiddos will learn to use their voices, bodies, and imaginations to collectively create a theatrical journey that will be performed the last day of camp. Summer Princess Ballet & Creative Dance | Pay by Session Once upon a time, in a magical place high in the San Bernardino Mountains, Princesses-in-Training were summoned from Green Valley Lake to Valley of Enchantment and everywhere in between to attend Princess Ballet and Creative Dance where they would learn how to pliĂŠ, point their toes, turn, kick, leap, and walk like dancing princesses do. Princesses-in-training will dance, share stories, play games and participate in stretch & warm-up exercises. There is ageappropriate beginning barre work, center and across the floor instruction intermingled with fun activities, games, and miming, etc.

Princesses will learn dance skills, coordination, musicality, gross and fine motor skills, creativity, imagination, confidence, and teamwork.

Summer Youth Gymnastics | Pay by Session The Summer Gymnastics Program offers multi-level classes that teach a combination of theory, skills, and technique. (Skills include: (1) floor (rolls, cartwheels, round offs, walkovers, etc.), (2) power tumbling/pre-vault: head/handsprings (front/back), and (3) balance beam (female) and parallel bar (male). Other apparatus includes single bar & mini ring.) Additional skills include: jumps, bridges, splits, and head and handstands. Every class welcomes both males and females. Classes are taught in a recreational, non-competitive positive manner and assist with improving self-confidence, agility, balance, coordination, strength, and flexibility. Program includes 1 class per week excluding holiday breaks. Theory portion of class covers gymnastics fundamentals, kinesiology, and fitness (hand-outs provided). Pre-registration is required.

“Dog Training begins with the owner,” says Karen Singleton. Singleton has designed an all-inclusive Dog/Owner Training Program that enables owners to find, develop, and enjoy that “Lassie-like” bond we dream of having with our dogs. Her program has been broken down into three steps. Step 1 is the mandatory Pre-Training lecture, without dogs. Step 2 consists of two classes on Extinguishing Unwanted behaviors. Dogs are welcomed if responsibly managed.

Step 3 is a series of three classes about putting behaviors on your dog (House and Car Manners/Practical Obedience) and dogs should attend with their owners. Owners may select any or all classes that apply to their needs. “It seems all of my clients lead hectic lives and it’s my job to develop programs and strategies that best suit their particular situations, personalities, and temperament.” She goes on to say that it is totally possible to train a dog without the use of a choke-chain or the use of force at all.

Rim Communities Special Olympics A Local Program of the Inland Empire Region Through the power of sports, people with intellectual disabilities discover new strengths and abilities, skills and success. Athletes find joy, confidence, and fulfillment -- on the playing field and in life. They also inspire people in their communities and elsewhere to open their hearts to a wider world of human talents and potential.

Help US Get Started! The Rim of the World Recreation and Park District is in the beginning stages of starting a local program here on our mountain. We are currently working on an Annual Program Plan, recruiting a local program of committee volunteers for key leadership, and also recruiting volunteer coaching staff. The program can then start recruiting athletes.

The Twin Peaks Community Garden is for you, the people of the Rim Mountain Community, to maintain and grow vegetables, plants, and flowers. This garden is maintained by you, volunteers of the community who have designated plots. Plots can be reserved as early as March, and as long as it doesn’t snow, can be planted and maintained until next winter. If the weather is good, you are good to tend to your garden. If you become part of the community garden you will have the responsibility of taking care of your garden plot, being water wise, and respecting the plots around you. Community Garden rules and plots (if plots are available) can be obtained at the Park District Office. The Community Garden is located at the Twin Peaks Recreation Complex, 675 Grandview Road, Twin Peaks, CA 92391.

San Bernardino County Service Area 70-D1, MacKay Park, in beautiful Lake Arrowhead, is the only public park in the area. It is located off Highway 173 and Torrey Road, between the Mountain Communities hospital and Papoose Lake. The views off the deck are stunning and picturesque. The park contains a playground, small rock climbing walls for the kids, a beach volleyball court, a basketball court, along with an area to barbeque, a couple of gazebos, and a restroom facility. In addition to a medium-sized dog park, a memorial walkway has recently been developed to honor local resident Mike Wetzel and the other victims of the San Bernardino, December 2 nd, 2015, shooting.
