The beaches will be open for Long Beach residents this summer starting Memorial Day weekend. The beach park will be open as normal for residents and non-residents. Beach goers will not be required to follow all Covid guidlines from the past year while at the beach. People are still advised to take precautions when needed.

The prices of the beach passes will be increasing slightly this summer for all individuals.

Beach passes can usually be purchased at the Gazebo near the Children’s Park and Ice Arena on the Recreation Campus at Magnolia Boulevard. The Gazebo is expected be open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Special operating hours for seniors 62-plus will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8-9 a.m.

Passes will also be sold at the Beach Trailer at the southwest corner of Laurelton Boulevard and West Broadway. The office will be open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The beach will begin daily operation from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 27. Until then it will operate on weekends only from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Don’t delay! Avoid the rush. Purchase your passes now before those sunny, warm days arrive!

New to this year, passes can also be purhcsed digitally and be used on moile devices to ener he beach. The passes can be purchased, for the same price, on the City's website. They can then be accessed and managed by downloading the Yodel app on smartphones and mobile devices.

All those who have reached age 13 must have a beach pass to enter or remain on the beach on weekends from Saturday, May 29 (including Memorial Day) through the end of June and daily from till after Labor Day. The beach will temporarily be open to residents only, unless updated by the city officials. Is there a family discount?

Yes. Family resident passes include two adult passes and for those children living in the household between the ages of 13 and 17. Children 12 and under are free, and children 18 and older and considered adults. Proof of birth date must be presented at time of purchase. Children born after Sept. 6, 2008, will not need a beach pass in the summer of 2022 and those born before May 29, 2003, will need to purchase an adult pass. What do I need to provide?

Residency: Those wishing to purchase season/ daily passes at the resident rate must have an address in the City of Long Beach. The following terms of proof are acceptable: driver’s license with Long Beach address, check or bill or lease with Long Beach address and picture ID.

Child: A child pass will be issued when proof of age is presented via birth certificate or passport or some other acceptable form of identification.

Senior Citizen: Driver’s license or passport indicating birth date on or before May 29, 1960.

Access Pass: Documentation indicating physical disability.

Military Rate: U.S. Government ID indicating holder is a member or has been honorably discharged from a branch of the United States Armed Services.
