This is the first RSOL Designer House for Kenneth Byrd and his team. As a musician in his younger years — playing two instruments for his school orchestra — Byrd sees his involvement as a way to support the symphony’s professional musicians.

Honestly, we said if we’re going to do this, we’re going to challenge ourselves by choosing a room in need of a big overhaul. We thought the library would show how we can offer a true departure from the existing feeling of the space.
WHAT WAS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE? The room’s dimensions. It’s long and narrow, which makes furniture placement with easy accessibility a challenge.
WHAT’S THE “STEAL THIS IDEA” FEATURE THAT GUESTS CAN TAKE AWAY? I’d love for people to re-create the wallpaper effect at home by painting the wall a solid color and then letting their imagination and paintbrush take over.
