richmond baptist church FROM THE PASTOR Hi, we are so glad you could be with us today. We are right in the middle of a teaching series called 5 Big Questions about God. Our Preaching and Equipping Team (a team of people that meet to talk about what topics we might cover, or what books of the bible we might teach from through the year) thought that this would a be a helpful series for us to explore. The idea behind the series is to answer some of the common objections to Christianity and the idea of God. Why are we so keen to tell people about Jesus? Because he is the reason for the hope we have. The bible even says to Christians to always have an answer ready just in case someone asks why we are so hope filled. In another place the bible says that Christians should be

ready to explain to people the mystery of Jesus. Part of being ready is knowing what questions people will ask. This means that a Christian should understand the culture they live in and the people they know well enough to know what questions they will ask. This does not mean we memorise answers word for word and robotically say them when someone has a question about faith. It means that we think about what questions people are asking and think about answers to help people understand more about Jesus, who he really was and what it means to have faith. Jesus is the reason for the hope that we have. He is why we are so keen to answer questions about faith, and about Christianity and about God. Jesus is the reason we want you to invite your friends and neighbours and family.

CONT... Today - 20 May Ps Elliot Keane 5 Big Questions about God 3. Christians, what’s with all the hypocrisy? Please join us for a fresh ground espresso after the service, we’d love to get to know you!

Next Sunday - 27 May Ps Elliot Keane 5 Big Questions about God 4. Is there really only one way to God? Please join us for a coffee after the service

There are still two weeks left in this series if you would like to invite a friend. Next week we will be asking and answering the question, “Is there really only one way to God?” The week after we will be discussing the reality of hell, asking, “Does hell really exist and why does it matter?” If you have any questions about what is talked about today, or any other questions about faith or God or Christianity, please ask us! We’d love to talk with you and hear your story too. A great way to interact with more Christians is to join one of our Gospel Groups, these are midweek groups that meet to share life, study the bible, and get into action by serving the community. If you are not already connected to a group we encourage you to find out more. It’s great to have you with us, Elliot
