OBITUARIES

Trent Alan Hostetler

Lucille Fanta, age 94, of Hillsboro, WI passed away July 18, 2021, at Pine Valley Community Village in Richland Center, WI. She was born on November 3, 1926, in Henrietta Township, Richland County, WI to Charles and Julia (Rynes) Machovec. On September 7, 1948, she married Rudolph Fanta at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church Parsonage in Hillsboro, WI. They had 3 daughters. They dairy farmed near Valley, Wisconsin. After retiring they moved to Hillsboro, WI, Lucille always enjoyed gardening, sharing her noodle making skills, quilting and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lucille is survived by her daughters, Elaine (Larry) Keller of Lyndon Station, WI, Donna (John) Novacheck of Hillsboro, WI, Linda Jo (Joseph) Fuller of Cazenovia, WI; four grandchildren, Jason Keller, Bryan (Wendy) Novacheck, Angela (Mat) Schiller, Bradley (Erikka) Novacheck; 6 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Ervin, Gillian, Emmercyn, Ryleigh, and Calvin; a sister, Emily (James) Hanzel of Cazenovia, WI; a brother, Joseph (Jill) Machovec of Hillpoint, WI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Rudolph, her parents, and a brother Leo Machovec. The family would like to thank Pine Valley Community Village with the compassionate care of Lucille. There will be a private burial at the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Hillsboro, WI at a later date per her wishes. The Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center assisted the family with arrangements. www. clarymemorialfuneralhome.com

Trent Alan Hostetler, was born on August 15, 1986, at Hope, Arkansas to Vernon and Lois Hostetler. He was killed in a tragic airplane accident on July 2, 2021, in a Communal Section of Leogane near Port-auPrince, Haiti at the age of 34. He with his wife and three children were returning from the states after a month-long furlough with family and friends. In his youth he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized on the confession of his faith. He was a faithful member of Lighthouse Chapel of Richland Center, WI at the time of his death. Trent spent his early boyhood years with his parents and siblings on a chicken and cattle farm near Columbus, AR. In the spring of 2002, at the age of 16, he with his family moved to a poultry farm near Clarksville, AR. This was an exciting move for Trent, as the farm was located close to Horse Head Lake and the Ozark National Forest, that afforded many hours of hunting and hiking which was a joy to his heart. In spite of his deep passion and love for the outdoors, when he agreed to serve in the mission field, he set that passion aside and put his whole heart and life into serving in the Lord’s kingdom. We will always remember his excellent marksmanship, good work ethics, and steady dependability. In 2011 he moved to the Muscoda, WI area and on May 12, 2011, married Erica Jo Hostetler, daughter of Eric and Amanda Hostetler. They enjoyed over 10 years of marriage, walking together and with God, through both good times and hard and experiencing many blessings as a couple. Left to cherish fond memories are his wife, Erica; one daughter, Rylie Nicole (8); two sons, Hunter Reed (7), and Cameron Bryce (4). They, as a family, were eagerly anticipating the arrival of another baby girl. He will also be keenly missed by his parents Vernon and Lois; five sisters and two brothers, Konni and husband Dave Kropf of Osceola, TX; Klara and husband Weston Hostetler of Clarksville, AR; Gwen and husband Austin Hostetler of Clarksville, AR; Gayla and husband Eugene Headings of Clarksville, AR; Trisha and husband Blane Hostetler of Windyville, MO; and Eric (20) and Morris (17) of the home. Also, his step grandmother Shirley Mrs. Jacob Kropf of Sedalia MO, eight uncles, five aunts, 2 step uncles and 5 step aunts and a host of cousins and friends. Preceding him in death are his paternal grandparents, Andy and Ruth Hostetler, maternal grandparents Jacob and Darlene Kropf, two uncles Marvin and Kevin, one niece Brandi, and 13 cousins. The family wishes to thank each one for coming and sharing your kind words, love, prayers, and food during the time of his passing. www.clarymemorialfuneralhome.com

Christine Dalee Wheelock, age 58, of La Crosse, died on Friday, January 15, 2021, at her home in La Crosse, WI. Christine was the youngest of four children born to Gerald R. Plapp and Ellen A. (Agnew) Lorey. She had married Robert “Bob” Wheelock on August 29,1987. She loved animals, especially dogs and horses. She was an outstanding, reliable softball catcher both in High School and after graduation and by all accounts a “Tom Boy” growing up. She loved music, especially rock and 90’s alternative but listened to it all. She was very creative and a beautiful artist using many different mediums to express herself including drawing, painting, burning and growing beautiful flowers and plants. Although she was very small in stature at a height of 4’8” she had a heart larger than most. She loved giving and helping other’s in need especially the underdog even if she was in need herself sometimes. She had a spunky nature with an infectious giggle. She loved her family, her friends, her pets and her many favorite sweets of which she always had a stash on hand. Christine is survived by her mother; Ellen A. Lorey of Mendota, IL; a sister, Sharon (Steve) Miller of Richland Center, WI; two brothers, Jeff Plapp of Dekalb, IL, Greg (Bonnie) Plapp of Rockford, IL; many nieces and nephews of which she loved very much; cousins and one aunt. She was preceded in death by her father Gerald Plapp, grandparents, aunts and uncles. A celebration of Christine’s life will be held at the Pier County Park in Rockbridge on Saturday August 7th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a butterfly release at 6:00 p.m. All her friends and family are welcome to attend.

Miracles For Nurse/Orchard Co-Owner Lorraine Premo 60 Years Ago – July 1961 (God’s Great Mercy to Her Husband George Premo, Daughter Alice Lorraine & Others)

Hear ye, hear ye - listen well I have WONDERFUL news to tell! 60 years ago, there was NO DEATH RINGING BELL. On July 11, my Mother Lorraine Premo who was so very dear had an operation that brought death so extremely near. No pulse, no blood pressure - the doctor had great fear. By the doctor, a special shot was given which kept her that day from going to Heaven. Operation day, because prayers had been said, my Mom lived and was not dead. Though alive, the doctors said in three days she SHOULD BE dead. Because many God-fearing people prayed, our dear Lorraine Premo’s death sentence was stayed. For Truly, God reached down with His almighty, loving hand. His healing came into the hospital in the county Richland. Over 14 years God gave her to live, so her kindness, love and care to others she could give. In the Richland Cemetery, my dear parents and their dear son-in-law (my dear husband) Melvin Thompson lie in the ground. Because they asked and received forgiveness THROUGH JESUS for their sins, they await with hope the trumpet’s sound. On that great, GREAT day, all three souls will be Heaven bound. When they arise, they will be Jesus’ bride forever with Him to abide. Submitted by daughter Alice Lorraine Premo (Thompson) now Iverson – July 2021 Daughter Alice’s Notes: How well I remember that day in the hospital on July 11, 1961, when Mom had the operation. I had no idea of the seriousness of the true condition of her health. It was thought that her large tumor was benign. Instead, it was CANCER. Though alive, the doctors said that in three days her obituary SHOULD BE read. How thankful I am for God’s miraculous, healing power and mercy shown to her, my dad and to me. Since I was only 15 years old, I desperately needed a mother to love and guide me. This demonstration of His almighty power has impacted my life to this day. I have been blind for 25 years, but I am closer to God than ever. I know my sins are forgiven. If I continue to obey His Word, I, too, will rise when the trumpet sounds. To God the “three-in-one” be the glory!

Our medical crises, Don's broken hip and rehabilitation at Pine Valley and Lorna's infection and emergency gallbladder surgery, have tested our faith and strength. We could not have done it without prayers and wonderful help from our family and friends. We thank God that our children and grandchildren are close and were able to care for us. We are thankful for the wonderful care Don received from everyone at Pine Valley and the Richland Hospital. Thank you for prayers, cards, food, transportation, visits, phone calls, berry picking and help in any way. We are doing so much better and both home to heal together. God Bless You and continue the prayers for our healing and strength.
