To the many people who attended the visitation and memorial service, we thank you. We are deeply grateful to our family, friends, community members, and co-workers for the flowers, food, cards, and memorials received in her memory. Thank you to the staff at Richland Center Hospital ER, UW Hospital, and Agrace Hospice Care Center for the excellent care she received over the past months. We would also like to thank Tom and everyone at Richardson Stafford Funeral Home for assisting the family with arrangements and for the respect and compassion shown to our family during this difficult time. We are deeply grateful to long-time family friend and Pastor of The Community Congregational Church of Lone Rock, Craig Peach. The strength and support he gave to our family, during what was also a difficult time for him, will never be forgotten. The service was beautiful and personal, a true reflection of her life. Finally, we wish to thank Added Touch Floral for the beautiful flower arrangements. Henry W. Schaub, 97, of Richland Center died at Schmitt Woodland Hills on Sunday, August 18, 2019. He was born on July 24, 1922 in Mason County, Il the son of William Richard and Emma Buse Schaub. He married the love of his life, Juanita M. Lowe on November 17, 1945 in Bloomington, Il. Henry served in the US Army from November 2, 1942 until October 30, 1945, serving in CO G 357th Infantry of General George Patton’s 3rd Army. The ‘Tough Hombres’ served in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He was wounded in Luxembourg in 1944 and received the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and Presidential Unit Citation. In 1997 he along with the members of the 90th Division

received the Medal of Honor from the French Government for their service to their country. He was a member of the VFW, DAV, and the 90th Division Association. Henry and Juanita farmed near Mason City, IL for 13 years where he also was a rural mail carrier for 13 years. Henry and Juanita and their four children moved to Richland Center on February 1, 1959 to a farm on English Ridge that they purchased from Mr. and Mrs. Carl Valenta. He retired from farming after 50 years and moved into Richland Center. Henry is survived by his wife of 73 years, Juanita; 2 sons: William Schaub of Muscoda, WI, Richard (Betty Jean) Schaub of LaFarge, WI; 3 daughters: Linda (Myron) Peterson of Richland Center, WI, Lela (Duane) Wenig of Dorchester, IA, Loretta (Daniel) Ewing of Richland Center, WI; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews. Henry was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Emma Schaub, brother Wilbur (Francis) Schaub, sisters: Emmaline (Karl) Schulte, Sophia Schaub, Virginia Schaub and nephew Richard Schulte. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Pratt Memorial Chapel. Burial with Military Graveside Rites was held at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Bloom Township. Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at the Pratt Memorial Chapel from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements. Online condolences can be made at prattfuneralservice.com.
