March 29, 2019 Linda Jean (Parker) Hooker, 66, of Boaz, went to be with our Lord after an accident Friday, March 29th, 2019. Linda was born in Richland Center, WI on July 20, 1952. She was raised on the family farm near West Lima along with her four sisters and two brothers. Significantly younger than her older siblings, Linda was close with many of her nieces. She attended West Lima for elementary and middle school. She graduated from Kickapoo High School in 1970. She married Terry Cornell in 1970 and lived near her parent’s farm until 1983 when they moved to Viola. Together they had five boys: Jody, Jason, Joshua, Jamison, and Jonathon. She attended the University of Wisconsin – Platteville and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Education. Linda spent many years working in the Madison area before

returning to Richland County in 2003. In 2013, Linda married Gaylord Hooker, who she had known from middle school. Gaylord and Linda settled in Boaz where they joyfully opened their home to friends and family. Linda was a very kind soul and was a dear friend to many. She worked hard and put others first. She loved family gatherings and, like her mother, delighted in making delicious food for her loved ones to enjoy and raising plants. She was always looking for a chance to get all of her boys or her siblings together. Linda and Gaylord spent time together driving to farm shows and visiting with friends. Linda volunteered her time at the Boaz United Methodist Church and as an active member in the Lion’s Club. She loved her boys and their wives, and she welcomed Gaylord’s children into the family. Linda is survived by her sons: Jody (Heather), Jason (Joy), Joshua (Rochelle), Jamison, and Jonathon (Jill) as well as Gaylord’s children: Candy (Andrew Zimmer), Josh (Susan), and Lisa Zimmerman. Linda enjoyed spending time with her brothers and sisters. The laughter of her family is always a fond memory. She is survived by her siblings Lucille, Burt (Edi), Pat, Mary (Stan Anderson) and Lester (Karen). Linda tried hard to be involved in the lives of her grandchildren and build a special bond. Surviving grandchildren include: Jacob, Jessica (Joel Bechtel), Gracie, Ashley, Brody, Jorden, Jonathon, Mason, Justen, Alex, Ezra, Daisy, Andrew, Anna, Behati, Sloane, and great grandson Julian. The youngest of her family will never know her as well as they should, but they will hear the loving stories. She was preceded in death by her parents, Buford and Beulah; twin sisters, Jean and Joan; her sister, Eva; and her grandson, Tristen. Linda will be forever missed but will never be forgotten

by the many people who experienced her love and generosity. Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Pratt Memorial Chapel with burial having followed in the Viola Cemetery. Visitation was held Friday, April 5, 2019 at the Pratt Memorial Chapel from 5:00 PM until 7:30 PM and again on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Pratt Memorial Chapel from 10:00 AM until the service time at 11:00 AM. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements. Online condolences may be made at

April 3, 2019 Norman L. Hilleshiem, age 80, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2019 at Schmitt Woodland Hills. He was born on November 4,1938, to Virgil & Bernadine (Peckham) Hilleshiem, at home in Marshall Township, Richland County. Norm’s life revolved around wheels from an early age. If it had wheels, he wanted to ride it, paint it, fix it, or sell it--from soapbox derby cars to bicycles to Cushman scooters, then go-carts, cars, snowmobiles, and Mopeds. After graduating from Richland Center High School in 1956, he worked in Wisconsin auto plants, then as an automobile mechanic, eventually starting his own repair business. He was owner and operator of Norm’s Auto Sales on Highway 14 east of Richland Center since 1966. He sold and serviced Polaris

snowmobiles from the late sixties to late eighties. Norm was a dedicated leader in the Richland County Snowmobile Alliance, working to build and maintain trails for almost 50 years from 1968 on. During the winter months, he enjoyed snowmobiling with his family. During the warmer months, he traveled and went camping with family and friends. In 1997, Norm was a founding member of the Backroad Express Riders. He was a member of the Lions Club, Richland Area Senior Citizens, and the Parkinson’s Support Group. Volunteering for blood drives and other community efforts was important to him. He is survived by two daughters, Colleen Manning (Ron) of Sextonville, WI, Julie Hilleshiem (Mike Feldt) of Oak Creek, WI; seven grandchildren, Anna Manning (Mark Matthys) of Sun Prairie, WI, Beth Magstadt (Adam) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Cara Manning of Dubuque, IA, Dawn Manning of Washington, D.C., Evan Manning of Estes Park, CO, Elizabeth Hilleshiem of Oak Creek, WI, Faith Manning of Sextonville, WI; five greatgrandchildren; one sister, Evva Lou (Bill) Dawdy of Des Moines, IA; two nephews, Kirk and Craig Kintz of Des Moines, IA, and many other dear relatives and friends. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gary L. Hilleshiem, and nephew, John Todd Kintz. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the Pratt Memorial Chapel. Visitation was held at the Pratt Memorial Chapel on Monday, April 8, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again at the Pratt Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. A private burial will be held at a later date in the Richland Center Cemetery. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
