Southwest CAP and Local Continuum will be holding its semi-annual homeless count on July 26, 2017. All communities across the nation utilizing HUD funds for homeless and housing programs are required to conduct a count of unsheltered and sheltered individuals and/or families experiencing homelessness during a designated 24 hour period in their area. Volunteers will be out in the community looking for individuals and/or families who are experiencing homelessness, providing outreach, and obtaining information necessary for the count. The collected data will assist the community in understanding the scope and size of the local homelessness, engage in program and service development, and apply for state and federal funding. Southwest CAP and Local Continuum is committed to eliminating homelessness and improving housing options in Grant, Green, Iowa, Lafayette and Richland Counties.

We did however, have several cards without addresses and would like to extend our thanks for them. Thank you Kaul Park for the use of the facility plus Ellie, Linda, Deb and John for serving the dinner. A special thank you to Clary Memorial Funeral Home for all of your help during this difficult time, too Derek Miller for the great service and Father Scott for the visit. Irene Block and Family

Thank You There are many times along life’s journey that can test the spirit deeply and at the time of the loss of our mother, Mary Hansen, this is certainly one of those times. We want to thank everyone who has helped us through this difficult time. Thank you to all who sent a memorial, beautiful flowers or food. So many kind words and special memories were shared by those who attended the visitation and funeral service, or wrote a note in a card. Words can not express how much that meant to us. We will treasure those words forever. A special thank you to Dr. Robert Smith and Philomena Poole for years of caring for our Mother. Special thanks to the residents and entire staff at Schmitt Woodland Hills for the warm welcome when she moved to Schmitt, and for the love, kindness, compassion and respect until the time of her passing. Thank you to Mark and Nick and the entire staff at Pratt’s for guiding us and to Pastor Larry Engel for the lovely service. If you shared a fond memory or sat quietly in prayer, we thank you for remembering our Mother. God Bless You, the Family of Mary Hansen.
