Friday February 6th, Shepard Fairey better known as “Obey” in the street art scene was arrested during his exhibiton at the Institute of Contemporary Art. The event itself was sold out and Fairey was escorted out by police while entering the venue. The artist appeared in court February 9th, 2009 and is being charged for the wheat-paste posters he’s put up in public Boston locations. The artist is best known for his Obama hope poster, and has been all over the media as of late due to the popularity of his work.
