EXPLORING THE COMPLEXITY THROUGH PLAN AND SECTION

As the system remains successful in achieving some outline ambitions, the detail now needs to be considered and added into the project. The starting point for this will be the development of an apartment layout that can then be adapted throughout the scheme to meet the various unit types. The system encourages a flexible and standardised approach to the apartment layouts, and movable and interchangeable partitions etc could be explored alongside integrated sustainable technologies. Throughout the next stages of the project, the circulation will have to be carefully considered between and amongst the units, to ensure daylghting is ensured and privacy issues do not become a concern. There is also the potential for this project to be developed in to two fundamentally different avenue to exploration and inhabitation. The project could be explored as a standardised blueprint, to be manufactured - this can either be done on site or more obviously OR the project could evolve as a real community project, whereby individuals can be provided with plans and equipment and supervised to help the construction of their unit on site - enabling a large amount of customisation and increase the sense of ownership. This complex process could be offset by the standardised nature of the system and the components. The units are then lifted, stacked and fixed.
