PLAN FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF TUSSILLO Thesis | Tussillo, L’Aquila, Italy | Prof.ssa C. Carocci, Prof. B. Messina The thesis comes from an experience conducted in the field, and that in a tangible way brought us closer to the earthquake disaster. Our object of study is the reconstruction of the earthquake-center of Tussillo, in the municipality of Villa S.Angelo. The cognitive part extended to the urban construction was devoted to the damage that occurred to classify injuries extended to the horizontal and vertical structures (the dislocation of stone structures, and roof collapsed). The damaged situation was explained on the basis of the reconstruction of the walls and floor plan of the entire center with a legend that was accompanied by drawings. The analysis of public space has identified the major damage caused by the earthquake, such as roud blocks (rubble of collapsed buildings) and deformations etc. The assessment of the conditions presents an overall model to be used as the frame of the basis of the project.

PLAN FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF TUSSILLO Thesis | Tussillo, L’Aquila, Italy | Prof.ssa C. Carocci, Prof. B. Messina The systematic analysis of the damage led to the identification of kinematic mechanisms. They were set in motion by the seismic actions on the entire center, and they show the precariousness and vulnerabilities of the structures. Similarly, there were reviews of the possible weaknesses related to public spaces. Processing design offers a rationalization of routes and systems of public spaces. The proposed project is divided into different levels: 1) project addresses explained according to categories of assistance for the unit building. 2) design of the reservoirs that hold together the streets, squares, courtyards with fronts of buildings (types of attachments on the ground, floors, ramps, stairs, etc.), and 3) guidelines for the definition of construction projects (construction systems for new buildings and repair techniques for inteventions on the existing structures).
