Michelle Thompson is a well-‐known Illustrator from the United Kingdom. She trained at the Royal College of art (graduating in 1996) in London and specialized in illustration. She now works freelance creating illustration mostly for editorial use for clients such as Vaughan Oliver/Aspesi, Royal Mail and The Boston Globe using a wide and sometimes surprising range of objects and colors. I chose to look at Michelle Thompson for a variety of reasons; primarily among them because I wanted to look at an illustrator that was quite well known so I would have easy access to her work online, while also suiting my style of work and that I personally found interesting. From looking at her work, I found the way she contrasts colors and shapes that would not normally go well together interesting.
