Electrical Training Courses
City & Guilds 2382, 17th Edition Course This course is designed to enable practising electricians, domestic electrical installers and other allied professionals to ensure they are competent and fully qualified in the latest IEE Wiring Regulations. Course Content
On this course, you will study the format, content and application of the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671: 2008 (17th Edition).
3 days’ instruction and training, including online assessment.
The course is made up of eight units, relating to parts 1 to 7 of BS 7671, plus the 2008 Appendices. These units are: • Definitions • Assessment of general characteristics • Protection for safety • Selection and erection of equipment • Inspection and testing • Special installations or locations • Scope, object and fundamental principles • Appendices
The course takes the form of classroom instruction, ending in a two-hour multiple-choice online exam. The exam is ‘open book’ meaning that you will be able to refer to the 17th edition book throughout. There is no practical training on this course.
There are no formal entry requirements needed to take this course. However, it is expected that you will have some relevant experience and basic knowledge of electrical science. If you have already completed the 16th Edition Course (since June 2001) you do not need to take this 3-day course in order to obtain the 17th Edition qualification. Instead, we recommend the City & Guilds 2382, 17th Edition Update. Bookings
