RGPS STORY 5 and 6

Social Studies Project Interviewer: Valancia Siew (6A) Interviewee: Brenda Gee (Former RGPS Pupil) Years spent at RGPS: Year 1976-1979(Queen Street) Year 1980-1982(Holland Grove) The interviewee mentioned above is my mother who happened to have spent her first four years in primary school at Queen Street campus. She told me that she could not remember many things that happened in primary school but there was one rumour that remained etched in her mind till now.

According to her, the RGPS building in Queen Street was an old colonial building with dark corridors and huge columns. In P3, her classroom was at the ground level. She told me that outside her classroom stood a huge tree and large rock. Rumours had been going around about the rock being able to move by itself and that there were spirits lingering around the tree.

When I heard her story, shivers went down my spine. But she added in that she has NEVER seen any “strange activities� going on. Of course I was very relieved to hear that and was fortunate that I do not study in that same eerie compound!

Nevertheless, I enjoyed her spine-chilling recollection!
