CRÍTICA À MORAL CONTRA-REFORMISTA
Resumo É notório que nosso país, colonizado por católicos, não obteve o mesmo desenvolvimento de alguns países colonizados por protestantes. Desde o início, a nossa sociedade foi estruturada sob os pressupostos da moral contra-reformista, reação ao movimento da Reforma Protestante irradiado na Europa. Neste artigo, o autor trata sobre esta questão e mostra como a presença de missionários protestantes no Brasil foi importante na formação de uma nova visão de mundo, contrária à moral contra-reformista. Abstract It is well known that our country, which was colonized by Catholics, did not achieve the same level of development of other countries colonized by Protestants. Since its beggining, our society was based upon the CounterReformation morals, a reaction to the Protestant Reformation moviment spread in Europe. In this article, the author deals with this question and shows how the presence of protestant missionaries in Brazil was important in shapping a new vision of the world, contrary to Counter-Reformation morals.
