Minutes of the General Board Meeting of the RESEDA NElGHBORHOOD COUNCIL Monday, March 18, 2013 American Legion, Reseda CA 91335

I. Meeting called to order at 7:04 p.m. by Kevin Taylor, Chair II. Pledge of Allegiance led by Ashley Jones III. Roll Call. In attendance, making a quorum: Mary Unto, Hank Truxillo (arrived at 7:10 p.m.), Phil Merlin, Robert Vogel, Spike Dolomite Ward, Kevin Taylor, Brandon Balderas, Juan Guzman, Ashley Jones, John Mika, Ashley Alavizadeh (arrived at 7:06 p.m). Not in attendance: Timothy Mulholland, Monica Zepeda IV. Administrative Matters. Since no quorum was present at the last meeting, Joe Phillips could not be sworn in and the seat remains open. Jeffrey Gall of the Jewish Home for the Aging volunteered to fill the open business seat. No opposition. Voted in with a hand vote – 10 for, 1 against. V. Minutes from 2/25/13 approved without objection. VI. Crime report from Sgt Barber, LAPD, Brad Sherman’s office, Rosalba Gonzalez from Assemblyman Blumenfield’s office VII. Public comment and announcements: Cyndy Pickel briefed the board on sober living homes on Enfield, Joyce Pearson talked about run off for election, Hank Truxillo reported on Ride Reseda, Garth Carlson reported on Sr. Symposium, Joe Phillips reported on Sierra Club VIII.Presentation: Big Sunday and NHS IX. Discussion and possible action. a. Phil Merlin moved to join the LANCC/NCC position on funding neighborhood councils. John Mika seconded. Passed with hand vote (10 for, 1 against). b. No motion for Citrus Sunday c. Phil Merlin moved to rescind previous motion on 9/16/11 to fund St. Catherine’s banner for $500. Passed by consent. d. John Mika moved to appoint Phil Merlin, treasurer, as authorized signer for P-Card. Phil Merlin seconded. Passed by unanimous hand vote e. Phil Merlin moved to pay $187.60 to Sierra Display for replacement bulbs and wires on holiday lights. Hank Truxillo seconded. Passed by unanimous hand vote. f.

No motion needed because paper was donated.

g. Public agenda continued to be posted at Majestic Plaza. h. Voting Monica Zepeda in to outreach committee tabled because she was not present. Susie Fabrocini voted in to Economic Development Committee without objection. Hank Truxillo and Michael Homayun voted in to Vision Committee. Passed without objection. X, Officers Reports a. Chair, Kevin Taylor: suggested a board retreat. Make a shorter regular meeting to allow time for a retreat afterwards. 1st week in May at ONE. b. Vice Chair, Hank Truxillo: no report c. Secretary, Spike Dolomite Ward: no report d. Treasurer, Phil Merlin: Need to decide on how to handle the $5,000 debt from Centennial XI. Next meeting: April 15 at American Legion Hall, 7338 Canby Ave, Reseda, CA 91335. XII. Upcoming Agenda Items: Possible future agenda items that board members would like to include should be directed to Kevin Taylor. XIII.
