THE EDITOR When big stars slow down

What do celebrities do when their career slows down? For example, in the Philippines the so-called Asia’s Songbird, Regine Velasquez, is already losing esteem with her career. But is this true? Regine for her part says about celebrities losing stardom: “Mahirap lang yung hindi mo ina-accept, e. Kasi, magkakaroon ka ng maraming ilusyon and, at the end, you pressure yourself. Then, you just get your heart broken.” In fact, she doesn’t want to think about it. “Para iwas-stress,” says Regine about what other people say that she is already a has-been. When in fact, she is still very active. She has concerts (sold-out), a TV show, and fans still; adore her. Maybe, the only reason why some people are saying that is because like Regine, or even megastar Sharon Cuneta, some artists who have been seen almost everyday, on TV and in the movies, have slowed down. Adds the 47-year-old singer-actress, “I just feel very blessed that I am still given the opportunity to be able to perform, or nasa TV pa rin naman ako.” Aside from slowing down on showbiz activities, artists like her who have been in the business for so long learn to embrace other priorities. Unlike before, she is now a mother (to Nate) and wife (to singercomedian-businessman Ogie Alcasid) and stepmom (to Ogie’s daughter, Leila who’s also trying to build a showbiz career) and she now has other responsibilities. It is a topic that is a big deal even in Hollywood. Here’s one story we reprint from the Internet which shows an example on how time and condition could change when someone big in showbusiness slows down. That was the case in early 2018, when a photograph of California’s former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger appeared along with an elaborate, but false, back story. A photograph of Schwarzenegger in a sleeping bag in front of a statue of himself bore the following caption: Famed actor Arnold Schwarzenegger posted a photo of himself sleeping on the street under his famous bronze statue, and sadly wrote “How times have changed”… The reason he wrote the phrase was not only because he was old, but because when he was governor of California he inaugurated a hotel with his statue. Hotel staff told Arnold, “at any moment you can come and have a room reserved for you.” when Arnold stepped down as governor and went to the hotel, the administration refused to give him a room arguing that he should pay for it, since they were in great demand. He brought a sleeping bag and stood underneath the statue and explained what he wanted to convey: “When I was in an important position, they always complimented me, and when I lost this position, they forgot about me and did not keep their promise. Do not trust your position or the amount of money you have, nor your power, nor your intelligence, it will not last. ” Lesson learned?

Try to do other things. So as the saying goes: “Never put all your eggs in one basket.”

Luis’ promise to Jessy:

Good, beautiful genes

LAST year, the rumor that Luis Manzano has proposed to girlfriend Jessy Mendiola has already happened. In an anniversary episode of “Tonight with Boy Abunda” in November 2017, Manzano was asked how he would pop the question to the actress. “To be honest, I promise you a lot of things if we were going to take that plunge that we’re already talking about. And to some degree, we’re already planning,” said Manzano, who previously admitted that he and Mendiola are “seriously talking about marriage.” He added in jest: “Ang pangako ko sa iyo [ay] magandang lahi. Iyon ang promise ko sa iyo. Doon pa lang, wala ka nang problema. Ako na ang bahala doon!” Luis and Jessy first opened up about their relationship in 2016. Recently, the couple are seen in a very romantic photo on Instagram: Luis holding up high the very sexy Jessy, clad in bikini, in a cool swimming pool. There were comments, good and bad, but what caught us again

interestingly is one with a “ring”, asking him when is she gonna wear one. And Luis posted back: “What if tapos na?” He quickly reeled in the joke, however, when his friend tagged Jessy, telling her that she’ll know once he proposes. And while it remains unclear when exactly he plans to get down on his one knee, one thing is for certain: Luis has had it with those criticizing their relationship. Under the same photo, he blasted a follower who mused about when they’ll break up. Luis clapped back by poking fun at the user’s profile introduction and for spreading negativity. Well, fans want to see it on Jessy’s finger to maybe ease that negativity. Some people are even saying that “baka iba ang sinasabi ni Luis na tapos na”? Do it now, or waste those beautiful, good genes.

James, Nadine confess how their love for each other made them better persons JAMES Reid and Nadine Lustre have been a couple for three years now and they admit it was a great learning experience for them. “We both learned a lot from it,” says Nadine. “Maraming binago sa pagkatao namin ang love namin for each other. I can really say that my life and I changed for the better, especially when it comes to accepting each other just as we are.” And how is it for James? “For me, compared to my past relationships, I felt a different kind of love for Nadine. We helped each other grow and I’d say that I’ve grown a lot as a person.” Nadine adds: “There are different kinds of love. May love for family, for friends, may romantic love for someone you really love. For me, ‘yung love namin ni James, maganda talaga ang naidulot sa akin kasi nagbago ako for the better. The love I received from James really made me a better person.” “What’s nice is we started as friends and that’s a very good foundation,” says James. “It’s not just something passionate and crazy or spur of the moment but something that grew as we worked together. At this point, we can really say that the title of our new movie, ‘Never Not Love You’, can apply to us.” The trailer of “Never Not Love You”, which opens on Black Saturday, shows them engaging in some very passionate kissing scenes. Didn’t they have any qualms doing these intense scenes for the camera? “We have to level up in this movie kasi it’s about the serious topic of living in and the very personal choices that we make,” says Nadine. “Ngayon lang namin talaga ginawa ang ganito ka-intimate na mga eksena and we’re confident that our director, Antoinette Jadaone, gave it just the right treatment. Viewers will really feel the sincerity of the emotions that our characters go through in the story and we’re sure it will all be a very memorable viewing experience for them.”

Still a guessing game for John Lloyd-Ellen affair IT’s still a guessing game on the John Lloyd Cruz-Ellen Adarna affair. So maybe they don’t care at all if fans continue to speculate on what is really happening to them. No words if Ellen has given birth, nor if John Lloyd is still interested to act. Some say maybe John Lloyd will just continue to do business, put up more restaurants or hotel just like Ellen’s family. Ellen now wears the longest hair, so to speak, among the women who were romantically linked with JLC. Here’s to our knowledge – Kaye Abad was his first love, followed by Krista Ranillo (now happily married to a businessman in Los Angeles), then Heart Evangelista (now proudly married to Senator Chiz Escudero) in a short-lived romance, and then Angelica Panganiban, Sarah Geronimo (but no confirmation), Ruffa Gutierrez (in a whirlwind romance), and Shaina Magdayao. Even Bea Alonzo was rumored to have been smitten by his charms. Angelica was rumored to have a supposed rebound with him, but Ellen suddenly came into the picture. Rumor lang naman ‘yan, so maybe people in the know can correct us.

MOTHERHOOD FIRST FOR ISABELLE ISABELLE Daza, the equally pretty daughter of Miss Universe ‘69 Gloria Diaz, is now a mother to a baby boy courtesy of husband Adrien Semblat. Gloria is a happy lola, who was the first one to post a hint about the stork’s coming. Meanwhile, work can wait for Isabelle as she has to be a mother first now than model or act again. Take your time, Belle.

Co-stars confirm Liza’s and Enrique’s relationship LIZA Soberano says the rumors that her solo project, “Darna”, has been shelved simply are not true. “We’ve begun shooting scenes for the movie and it’s really a lot of fun!” she says. “I’m enjoying working with Direk Erik Matti for the first time and the rest of his crew. Kakaiba talaga ang pelikulang ito sa lahat ng nagawa ko na and I’m really having fun doing it. The shooting is in full swing at kasabay ko itong ginagawa with our new primetime show on ABS-CBN, ‘Bagani’.” Liza turned 20 years old on her birthday last January 4. “Yes, I’m no longer a teenager and I feel more responsible with my own life and career,” she adds. “But I feel very fortunate to have an amazing family, great friends, a good career and very supportive fans.” At the presscon of “Bagani”, the stars are asked if they’re all already taken. Enrique Gil says they’re all taken except for Sofia Andres. So that means he and Liza are taken? “Well, para sa akin, yes, taken na kami,” he says. And Liza adds: “Exclusive.” When asked to expound on this, Enrique says: “As I would always say like before pa, para sa akin, siya lang talaga ‘yung babaeng mahal ko. Siya lang.” And Liza shares: “He is someone who is always there and who will always be there for me.” Their co-star, Matteo Guidicelli, volunteers this information: “Kapag ‘di sila magkasama ng kahit dalawang oras, mabubuwang na silang dalawa.” “Parang nasanay na kasi kami na lagi kaming magkasama in the projects that we do since we’ve been working together for five years now,” says Enrique. “When I’m shooting ‘Darna’ on my own, we do video calls to stay in touch with each other,” Liza adds. “At the end of the day, we make up for lost time with him having dinner at our house.” With such candid revelations, it’s very apparent that Liza and Enrique are now officially in a relationship.

Blind Items THE lesson that Talented Performer (TP) should learn is never to leave his mobile unattended, as someone might tinker with his files and discover secrets. For a moment, TP absent-mindedly left his phone with one of the staff members of a show. TP was in a rush to be in the audience section to watch the performance of His Declared crush (HD), and he must have forgotten the incriminating data in his photo folder. In one of the relaxing moments in the show, TP was teased about who his crush or his interest was leaning to. Shyly, TP confidently shared on air that he admires HD. TP cannot be faulted, as HD is indeed a beautiful lady. Later on, the friends of HD told her about the feelings of TP toward her. She blushed, as she also admires TP for his talent. After some time, the two started exchanging texts and friendship was evolving. As HD has an interesting family, TP wanted to know the family members better. TP started to ask about the Good-looking Sibling

of HD (GS) and TP shared stories about her relationship with GS. Then, one time, HD and GS visited the studio for a performance. Finally, TP was able to meet GS personally. Some kibitzers noticed the different disposition of TP toward GS and silently thought that love was in the air. Of course, this thought was dismissed immediately. While the friendship of TP and HD continued, HD started to wonder why TP always had many questions about GS. Perhaps, it was TP’s way to get to know about her, too. HD was courteous and played along. As a child, she and GS have always had a kind reputation and a mean attitude toward anyone was out of character. Then, when HD and GS went to perform together on the show again, TP got excited. That was when he left his mobile with someone else. Unfortunately, that person did open his phone and was not at all surprised that TP kept many photos of GS in his folder. The staff smiled and wondered if rumors about TP were indeed true.

Beauty queen, actress survive boat accident with a mayor, 1 dead SEBASTE, Antique, PH - ONE man died while several others, including a town mayor and 2 showbiz personalities, were rescued after a speedboat capsized while they were on their way to an island in the town of Culasi Thursday morning. The lone fatality was identified as Bennie Dable, 50, who is the bodyguard and a relative of Pandan town Mayor Jonathan Tan. Dable, who was reportedly driving the speedboat, was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. Beauty queen-turned-actress Bianca Manalo and bold actress Ehra Madrigal, who were friends with the mayor, were among those who

were rescued from the capsized boat, according to Jesus Aguirre Dioso, public relations officer of Pandan. Dioso said the other survivors included Tan; Majel Tresche, 65; Madrigal’s husband Tom Yeung, 47; Torebeo Barrentos, 41; an unidentified female; and 2 minors. “Yes, Bianca Manalo, and Ehra Madrigal and her husband are friends with the mayor,” Dioso, who was supposed to join the group but decided to take a land trip instead to Culasi, said in his native tongue. “The boat capsized at 10:50 a.m., they arrived in the shoreline at 1:45 p.m. Mayor Tan and Torebeo Barrentos swam for more than 2 hours going to the shoreline. Fishermen saw them and helped them. Mayor Tan went onboard a pumpboat and went back to where the boat capsized and checked on the situation of his friends,” he shared. Dioso said the mayor was supposed to tour his friends in Mararison island, one of the popular island destinations in the Province of Antique. Sr. Inspector Glen Jaromay, officer in charge of the Sebaste police, said the speedboat, which was on its way to the Island, was hit by strong waves. He said the incident was reported to the police past 1 p.m. and they immediately launched a rescue operation. “The waves were quite big and the wind was gusty. The speedboat was hit by waves and it capsized,” he said in Bisaya. Tan’s group went back to Pandan, said Dioso, but they were all in grief because of the fatality.

ALDEN DOWNPLAYS ISSUE VS JUANCHO, TALKS ABOUT NEW PROJECTS AND PEANUT BUTTER ALDEN Richards shows humility when we ask him at his launch as endorser of Cookie’s Peanut Butter how he feels when his Kapuso costar Juancho Trivino flashed the dirty finger sign when shown his poster? “Yes, somebody showed me the video,” he says. “Okay lang. Wala ‘yun. It’s not a big deal. Nag-apologize na naman siya sa social media, ’wag na lang natin palakihin.” But of course, AlDub fans are not as easily appeased and they’re up in arms against Juancho, tearing him to pieces. As for Alden, he shows he is above it and that’s a big plus factor for him. After all, he’s getting one big blessing after another in terms of endless endorsements. So why did Cookie’s Peanut Butter got him as their brand ambassador? “Simply because Alden’s appeal is universal,” says Joy Abalos-Yatco, wife of Cookie Yatco, former vice mayor of Biñan, for whom the peanut butter brand was named. “We’ve seen how his fans range from small children to teenagers to adults and even old people. And he’s so nice to all of them. At napakamaka-Diyos pa. May isang 92-year-old lola na naka-wheel chair, tinawag siya, nilapitan niya at kinausap niya. He’s really so wholesome. Bagay na bagay siya sa produkto namin.” Joy started making her own peanut butter as her own special gift to family and friends during the holidays. “It was a big hit. Tapos, may nagoorder na, so my husband, for whom the brand was named, decided to register it and distribute it commercially. Now, we have our own factory and it’s available na sa supermarkets. Aside from the peanut butter, we also have Cookie’s Cashew Butter, Cookie’s Peanut Butter na Pangluto, Mani ni Cookie and Kasuy ni Cookie.”

AX Collins is getting a lot of good feedback for her performance in the movie “Citizen Jake” directed by the comebacking filmmaker, Mike de Leon. She plays Mandy, the girlfriend of title-roler Atom Araullo. She is a teacher in Baguio who felt crushed when one of her students was raped and murdered.

“It was a great experience being given the chance to work with Director Mike de Leon,” says Max who just spent the recent Holy Week vacation with husband Pancho Magno in Korea. “I was really surprised and very much thankful when I took the audition for the role at ako ang mapili. I enjoyed working with the whole cast, led by Atom and Gabby Eigenmann as his brother and it feels great to be part of a movie that shows some ills in our country and society.” On TV, she enjoys playing the role of Darcy, the sexy physical fitness instructor in “The One that Got Away”. “I’m having so much fun doing the show with Lovi Poe, Rhian Ramos, Dennis Trillo and all our co-stars. Naging good good friends talaga kami sa set.” As Darcy, she’s the one who takes care of her family, including a problematic brother played by Ervic Vijandre who is always borrowing money from her. And now, her role as Darcy has become even more complicated as she has become pregnant. Who is the father of the baby she’s carrying in her womb? That’s one of the show’s mysteries and you have to watch the coming episodes to find out who is Darcy’s lover.

Max says working with Mike de Leon a ‘great experience’

Iza Calzado

ignored by the Eddys:

It’s their call IZA CALZADO won the best actress award for “Bliss” in the Osaka International Filmfest and the recent Star Awards but she’s ignored in the coming Eddy Awards. How does she feel about this? “Okay lang naman yun,” she says, “Each award-giving has its own criteria. Prerogative naman nila yun and it’s their call. I’d like to be a nominee but baka they didn’t find my work worthy enough and let’s just respect their opinion.” Is it true she’s playing one of the opponents of Liza Soberano in the coming movie, “Darna”? “Ay, si Liza na lang ang tanungin nyo about that. Ang movie na siguradong gagawin ko is our reunion ng co-stars as the Sanggres in ‘Encantadia’, sina Sunshine Dizon, Karylle and Diana Zubiri, to be directed by our Enca director, Mark Reyes. Noon pa pinaplano ang reunion namin, but since magkakaiba na kami ng networks ngayon, sa pelikula lang kami puedeng magkasama as of now. Inaayos pa ang script and our schedules. I’m also supposed to do a Cinemalaya movie for Direk Perci Intalan where I will play the role of a lesbian.” Isn’t she doing a new TV drama for ABS-CBN with the love team of Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia? “Yes, but it’s currently on hold. So we don’t know kung kailan matutuloy.” We thought her wedding to BF Ben Wintle will take place this year? “Baka end of this year, but wala pang details. Basta we plan it to be a destination wedding, hindi ko lang puede pang sabihin kung saang bansa.”

CESAR WANTS TO HIRE A HOLLYWOOD ACTOR FOR NEW HISTORICAL FILM CESAR Montano might be busy with his job as Chief Operating Officer of the Tourism Promotions Board but he has not neglected his being an actor sine he is now filming a historical movie, “Sultan Kudarat: The Unconquered Hero”. This he revealed at the Cine Turismo Awards which honored films that showcase the beauty of our country and helps promote tourism. “We want to do a big historical film every year with possibly a Hollywood actor in it so we can also distribute it abroad and not just locally,” he says. “We have to tell the story of our forgotten heroes as this will be significant in reviving nationalism, especially among the millennials today na hindi alam kung ano ang pinanggalingan nila. Most of them are not proud of their heritage and we cannot blame them kasi hindi nila alam masyado ang ating history. So we want to start with Sultan Kudarat, the one sultan in Mindanao who was never conquered by the Spaniards in the 1700s. The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) honored 10 Filipino-made and two foreign-crafted movies for their valuable contributions to the country’s tourism. Cesar Montano acknowledged the efforts of Fil pino directors as well as the staff and crew of all the participating films that were shown in 2016 and 2017. He says: “Sa mga nakaraang taon, nakita natin kung paano

napupunuan at natutulungan ng pelikula ang industriya ng turismo. Kami na po sa TPB ang unang kikilala sa mga benepisyong kayang anihin from Film Tourism: increased revenues for tourist attractions; jobs for locals; patronage of local food and handicrafts.” The 10 Filipino-made films honored during the first are: 1) “Sakaling Hindi Makarating” by Director Ice Idanan that features scenes from Ilocos, Siquijor, Batanes, and Zamboanga; 2) “Lakbay2Love” by Director Ellen Ongkeko-Marfil that showcases Timberland Heights, and Benguet ; 3) “Paglipay” by Director Zig Dulay that was set in the mountains of Zambales; 4) “Camp Sawi” by Director Irene Villamor, filmed in Bantayan Island; 5) “Patay na si Hesus” by Director Victor Villanueva; 6) “Apocalypse Child” by Director Mario Cornejo that features Baler; 7) “Siargao” by Director Paul Soriano, which showcases the island of the same name; 8) “I Found My Heart in Santa Fe” by Director Bona Fajardo, set in Santa Fe in Cebu; 9) “Requited” by Director Nerissa Picadizo, which features Mt. Sarah shares glimpses of what to expect in her 15th anniversary concert SARAH Geronimo has been in the entertainment industry for 15 years, and she is celebrating it with another major concert on April 14 at the Big Dome titled “This 15 Me.” Among her guests are Billy Crawford, Mark Bautista, Xian Lim, James Reid, and Daniel Padilla. This will be immediately followed by a US tour of the same concert slated on April 21 here in Los Angeles, April 22 in San Diego, April 28 in San Francisco, April 29 in Las Vegas, May 4 in Chicago, Illinois and May 6 in New York. Sarah in the US tour will be with the controversial Mark Bautista, the talented Sam Concepcion and the G-Force. The Philippines’ so-called Pop Star Royalty explained how and why they came up with “This Is Me” as the title of her concert. “I am still growing, learning. This is me because this is my 15th year in the industry. Ito na ‘yung what I have become for 15 years. Unlike her last concert two years ago, Geronimo said her repertoire for “This Is Me” will be a mix of her original songs and those which became relevant throughout her career. “Ako lahat. May approval naman ng production team. Of course lahat ng naging bahagi ng journey ko, kakantahin ko dito sa concert na ito,” she said.

“Ngayon, mas balanse. May mga songs na gugustuhin or maiintindihan nila, alam nila and familiar sila.” Among her guests are Billy Crawford, Mark Bautista, Xian Lim, James Reid, and Daniel Padilla. “O di ba, pabata na nang pabata? Promotion na rin po ng film namin. Si Daniel din, o di ba mas bata pa? Sobra akong nagpapasalamat sa mga guests. Napaka-busy nilang lahat pero binigyan pa rin nila ako ng oras,” she said. Geronimo, however, regrets that she won’t be able to sing with Regine Velasquez on the special occasion. “Sayang lang hindi ko makakasama ‘yung aking iniidolo na si Ms. Reg kasi meron din siyang kasabay po na trabaho, pero talagang si Ms. Reg ‘yung... sabi nga niya sa akin, siya ang nagluwal sa akin sa industriyang ito. Pero okay lang. Si Ms. Reg kasi kahit naman hindi siya makakasama sa concert na ‘to, she has always been very, very supportive and sobrang grateful ako kay Ms. Reg,” she said. As if seeing her perform live isn’t enough, Geronimo has another gift for her fans on the day of her concert. “We will be releasing the album on the day of the concert. May 10 tracks, all original,” she teased. Geronimo said the album will be similarly titled “This Is Me” and it will contain her previously released singles such as “Sandata” and “Ganito.” Meanwhile, for ticket inquiries on the US tour, call Rochelle Nubla, (818) 4042019, Lynn Bautista (858) 336 2256 and ICM (818) 212 8731.

RYAN GETS BIGGEST BREAK OPPOSITE KIM RYAN Bang gets his biggest break in a starring role opposite Kim Chiu in a horror-comedy flick, “DOTGA, Da One That Ghost Away”, a title obviously inspired by GMA’s primetime romcom “TOTGA, The One That Got Away”. The filming of the movie is rushed for an April 18 playdate. Ryan got his break as a runner up in “PBB: Teen Clash of 2010”, where James Reid won. He became more popular as one of the hosts of the noontime show, “It’s Showtime”, since 2012. He became known as a comedian and did a lot of movies with Star Cinema like “Beauty and the Bestie”, “My Ex and Whys”, “Seven Sundays” and “The Ghost Bride”, where he supported Kim Chiu, the first teen big winner in 2006. In “DOTGA”, he and Kim will be supported by the young love team of Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber, also PBB graduates of PBB Lucky 7 last year, who Ryan supported before in their launching movie, “Loving in Tandem”, along with former Kapuso and Starstruck discovery Enzo Pineda. They will be playing spirit questors or ghost hunters who help in driving away bad spirits from haunted houses. Other comedians who’ll be in the movie are Moi Bien, Pepe Herrera and Lassie Marquez.

After they graduated, they both migrated to America in 2011 to pursue their career in nursing. It wasn’t easy for them in the beginning since they both lived more than an hour away from each other so they would alternate on who is going to whose house just to see one another. They came to the point where they were already making enough money to get their first apartment at Glendale so they don’t have to travel so far anymore just to be together. In February 2016, they

moved to Las Vegas and started working as registered nurses and after almost a year, they finally bought their own house. During the summer of 2017, they took a vacation with friends to Hawaii. Little did Nina know that she was about to be engaged. The proposal happened at China Mans Hat in Honolulu, Hawaii after kayaking to an island in the middle of the ocean and hiking to the top of the mountain with their close friends. As Nina was enjoying the view, Luis bent his knee and kneeled in front of Nina asking her the most life changing question of all time, “Will you marry me?” And of course, Nina answered, “Yes!!” And they were wed February 9, 2018 at Wayfarers Chapel in Palos Verdes, California (with reception held at Portofino Resort Hotel, Redondo Beach, CA).

BEAUTY & FASHION By Estela Cottle:

An event to watch out for

AN upcoming event entitled “Beauty & Fashion by Estela Cottle” was conceptualized by none other than Ms. Estela Cottle, who has been in the beauty business for 24 years. It will showcase the creation of talented designers Edgar San Diego and Richard Papa, who will once again charm the LA’s fashionistas. The show, produced by the beauty expert herself, proprietor-owner of Estela Skin Care and Republiq Journal publisher, will also feature the “Faces of Estela Cottle,” consisting of her loyal patrons, the very reason why she gained prominence and distinction in the Fil-Am community here in Los Angeles, California. Like most immigrants from the Philippines, Ms. Cottle’s is an inspiring saga, from being a wage worker to becoming an entrepreneur, her story is one that is worthy to be told, one of the best self-made stories in a maddening world of the beauty industry. Her products are customized. Her background as a chemist and a dietician gives her the mastery in formulating her own beauty products. She really has gone a long way from when she started, and because of that, Estela always makes it a point to give back to the community. God-fearing and loving, she vows to help out anyway she can, be it to her clients, treating them as part of her family, guiding them on how to lead healthier and happier lives by taking care of their outward appearance, thereby boosting their confidence, to giving them dietary advice, and sharing her positive outlook in life which is encouraging and inspiring.

San Diego, the ‘Top Honcho’ of the Fashion Designers’ Association of the Philippines (FDAP) is a master of colors. Known for his intricate embroideries, he is the most wanted designer for wedding events. He has impressed the theater groups with his outstanding costume designs for big-ticket productions, Broadway-style such as The Little Mermaid, Rent, Madame Butterfly, to name a few. His versatility and genius were never unnoticed. He became one of the most celebrated and most awarded designers of the country. Papa, “Mr. Body Shots,” is a great part of two of the most prestigious beauty pageants in the Philippines, the Binibining Pilipinas and Mutya ng Pilipinas. He is a professor of the Sofa Design Institute, the author of the Fashion Design NCII for senior high school, and the inventor of the A1 pattern-making ruler, Graded Master Pattern, and the Grid Pattern Paper. His RTW line under the label Aqua and Miranda are sold at Robinsons. With his share of significant awards, his name is on a pedestal in the fashion industry. The Filipiniana collection is a must-see as it will certainly make its way to numerous Philippine Independence Day parties, where Filipinas are known for dressing up to the nines. It will be quite a refreshing experience to watch our beautiful and unique attires created by our outstanding designers paraded at the ramp. The expertise of Estela in beauty enhancement will be showcased as she brings her trove of experiences and skills to the show.

She not only helps in the community, part of the proceeds from the Show will be donated to those that were affected by the eruption of the Mayon Volcano in the Philippines. She truly believes that she is being given all these blessings in life to be a blessing to others, and what better way to be that than to share with those in need.

These three are the incredible achievers of their generation. In the very fickle world of fashion and beauty, there will only be a few who will see longevity in their careers. Many have tried to crawl their way up but not many are anointed, nor had the willpower to withstand its unforgiving challenges. Sometimes talent and genius are not enough as the world is filled with numerous wannabes of equally great talents, skills, and intelligence. What makes one be “IT” involves authenticity, heart, and the ability to persevere and forge their labors to fruition.

Estela, along with Edgar San Diego and Richard Papa, is set to WOW the audience with their one of a kind creations that spell “Beauty and Fashion,” a very interesting pioneering show of its kind.

Beauty & Fashion by Estela Cottle will be held on June 2, 2018, Saturday at the Envision Center, 15055 Oxnard St., Van Nuys Ca 91411. Red carpet event is at 4:30 pm. Fashion show starts at 6:00 pm.

Bea unfollows Gerald, Pia on Instagram: Love triangle or just gimmick?

BEA Alonzo’s decision to unfollow Gerald Anderson on Instagram had fans’ tongues wagging with rumors. But it appears it’s nothing big, as the issue did not even deserve a mention when Anderson appeared on “Tonight With Boy Abunda” on Tuesday to promote his film, “My Perfect You.” He even shared a text message he received from Alonzo, claiming that the actress loved his new movie. “Nanood siya last week and nag-text siya, sobrang nagustuhan niya iyong movie,” he said. In the same interview, Anderson also revealed that he wants to take Alonzo to his hometown in General Santos City, explaining that he would love it if she could experience the simplicity of

provincial life. “Gusto kong ma-expose siya sa ganoon. Gusto kong makita niya iyong provincial life, kung papaano kami sa probinsya, iyong ganoong kasimple. Makita niya kung saan ako galing,” he said. It was last Thursday when eagle-eyed fans first noticed that Alonzo had unfollowed Anderson, as well as his “My Perfect You” co-star Pia Wurtzbach, on Instagram. The camps of all three stars have yet to directly address the issue. But in an ambush interview, Pia has stated that all is well between her and boyfriend, Marlon Stockinger. Well, if it’s still part of the promotions for their movie, My Perfect You, then maybe they have succeeded since the movie is doing well in theaters back in Manila and abroad, including here in the US where it has scheduled exhibitions.

KAPAMILYA fans who dream of watching their favorite stars live now have more payment options to choose from as the Kapamilya Tickets online portal (KTX) partners with iPay88 to enable online banking and offline payment transactions. The partnership allows Kapamilya fans who have no credit or debit cards to purchase and pay their tickets through online banking (Dragon Pay and BancNet) and offline payment via banks and nonbanks (BayadCenter, LBC, Robinsons, SM Department store). The new option adds to credit or debit card (VISA/MasterCard) payments accepted by KTX. Launched in May 2017, KTX is ABS-CBN’s online ticketing portal that gives Filipinos easy access to ABS-CBN shows and events, as well as a way to get tickets to Kidzania. ABS-CBN, which is transitioning into a digital company, is the first among TV networks in the Philippines to launch its very own online ticketing system. Among the ABS-CBN shows that Filipinos can book through KTX are “ASAP,” “It’s Showtime,” “Banana Sundae,” “I Can See Your Voice, “Gandang Gabi Vice,” and “Magandang Buhay.” Tickets to Kidzania and special ABS-CBN live events can be purchased online via KTX. Liza Soberano denies rumors that Darna has “flown off”

IZA Soberano has confirmed that the much-awaited movie “Darna” is “tuloy na tuloy” even if she’s also busy taping for the hit series, “Bagani.” Even the film’s director Erik Matti has denied rumors that the movie has been shelved.

In a recent Twitter entry, the director posted a short but onpoint answer to rumors saying the film won’t push through. He wrote, “Shelved na Darna? Sino may sabe? Paano ‘to?” (Darna is shelved? Who said? How’s this [then]?” He then posted a photo of what seems to be a planning session for the movie. Meanwhile, Mico Del Rosario of Star Creatives also echoed the same sentiment. Uploading a screenshot of an article about the movie being shelved, he negated the said news and clarified that shooting is actually ongoing. He wrote, “THIS IS NOT TRUE. Spoken already to Tito Ricky Lo and clarify that DARNA has already started shooting. Tuloy na tuloy po ang Darna.”

The ‘50s movie queen Rosa del Rosario was the first ever woman who gave life to Darna. In the ‘60s, actress Liza Morena assumed the heroine’s costume in “Si Darna at and Impaktita.” Eva Montes and Gina Pareño also made their versions of the movie in the ‘60s. Perhaps the most famous actress ever to play Darna was Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos in 1973. The movie was re-made by two more iconic actress in the ‘70s, Lorna Tolentino in 1977 and Rio Locsin in 1979. Even the Megastar Sharon Cuneta had a chance wearing Darna’s costume when she did a cameo role to Edu Manzano’s “Captain Barbell” movie in 1986. In the ‘90s comes inarguable two of the sexiest women ever to play Darna, Nanette Medved who played the role in 1991 followed by another former bombshell Anjanette Abayari (who’s now here in Los Angeles) in 1994. Darna last appeared on the big screen in 2003 when Asia’s songbird Regine Velasquez assumed her powers for the movie “Captain Barbell.” She was later revived on television by Angel Locsin in 2005 and Marian Rivera in 2009.

Inigo, DJ Moophs have summer hit on their hands with “OMW” DALY CITY, CA, – Spring may have officially started in the U.S. though it still feels like winter in most places. But with the latest collab track dropped by Billboard Philippines Top 20 chart-topper Inigo Pascual and DJ and music producer Chris Lopez a.k.a. Moophs, expect the duo to fan the flames of summer heat from the Philippines and bring it to American shores with their new single, “OMW (On My Way)”.

This is not the first time that Pascual and Moophs have worked or performed together. Both are coming off the high profile success of “One Music X” last November in Dubai, UAE which turned out to be one of the biggest music festivals of the year in the Middle East. Just last weekend, the two also performed at the prestigious Coronation Night of the Bb. Pilipinas beauty pageant held at the historic Smart Araneta Coliseum in Metropolitan Manila. When “OMW” debuted on YouTube on March 15 with hardly any publicity and promotions, it immediately garnered tens of thousands of views, scores of likes and positive comments. “When I wrote ‘OMW’, I tried to put myself in the shoes of my 21-year old self, since that’s where Inigo’s at now,” said Moophs. “What was my mindset 10 years ago? What was I worried about and what was I doing on the daily? I definitely wasn’t the young superstar at 21 that Inigo is today! But I think a lot of the driving forces are ultimately the same: girls, music, finishing school, and having a good time with friends. I tried to write the song from that perspective: you wake up a little groggy from a fun night, get a text from your girl, and head over to her place. Simple!” Moophs continued: “The vibe of the production for ‘OMW’ came from a blend of my tastes and Inigo’s. I tried to keep it lighthearted and accessible with a drop that’s fun but still slaps. ‘OMW’ is your twenty-something summer anthem.” While based in the Philippines right now as ABS-CBN’s International Music Content Officer and head of the Tarsier Records imprint, which was launched by Manila-based recording giant Star Music for international audiences, Moophs shares the Los Angeles feels and vibes with Pascual because both of them lived for years in the City of Angels. Both have been exposed to the breadth of musical influences in the world’s seat of entertainment. When Pascual returned to the Philippines to try it out as an actor and singer, his first big break in music came when he composed and recorded “Dahil Sa ‘Yo” (Tagalog phrase that means “because of you”). The song jumpstarted his career as a recording and live performing art-

ist as it became the first number one song on Billboard Philippines’ Top 10 Charts at opening, then holding the top spot for nine weeks. Currently, Pascual’s music resides in the genres of Pop and R&B. “I want to create music that helps people express their unspoken emotions; music that takes them back to a specific time in their lives, an anthem of sorts for a generation: music that gets people to dance, and entire stadiums to sing and shout,” he said

Gerald Anderson finally breaks silence on relationship with Bea Alonzo: Just a little misunderstanding

MANILA – Gerald Anderson finally broke his silence about his relationship with Bea Alonzo after it was reported that the actress unfollowed him and deleted all their photos together on social media. In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Friday, Anderson admitted that he and Alonzo had a “simple misunderstanding.” “It was a simple misunderstanding. Naayos po namin personally and

‘yun po ‘yung imporante, to move on from this,” he said. Anderson also answered for Pia Wurtzbach when the former Miss Universe titleholder was asked to comment on the matter. “It was a misunderstanding. ‘Yun na ‘yun. Ang importante, everything is good. Everything is good,” the actor said. It is noteworthy that aside from Anderson, Alonzo also unfollowed Wurtzbach on social media. She also deleted the photo of the “My Perfect You” poster when she previously helped promote the film. “Pia has been nothing but sobrang professional and sobrang sarap kasama. Sa first lead niya, first day pa lang, napabilib na ako sa kanya. We are just happy with the outcome. Sa personal life naman namin, okay na okay,” Anderson said. Echoing her leading man, Wurtzbach said her relationship with racecar driver Marlon Stockinger is also doing well. “Yes, yes of course,” said the beauty queen, who recently organized a surprise birthday party for her boyfriend.

Meanwhile, Anderson and Wurtzbach are elated that “My Perfect You” has already earned P136 million worldwide. Now on its fourth week, the movie is still screening in over 100 theaters in the Philippines. “Even over Holy Week, ang saya kasi ang dami pa ring nanonood.

We are happy kasi siyempre pinaghirapan namin lahat ‘yan,” Anderson said. Wurtzbach, for her part, said: “Masaya na ako. Okay na ako. Ito lang naman ang gusto ko, alam naman ng lahat, na magkaroon ng movie with Star Cinema and na magustuhan ng mga tao ‘yung story and for the movie also to do well. Since all of that is happening, okay na ako.” Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, “My Perfect You” centers on Burn (Anderson), a broken-hearted man looking to start over, and Abi (Wurtzbach), a hostel owner whom he meets while on vacation. While the teaser showed Burn exasperated by the ubiquitous and overbearing Abi, it also offers a glimpse of the two finally getting along and eventually falling in love. Their chemistry, it appears, will be sprinkled with humor, thanks to the combination of Abi’s boisterous personality and Burn’s pensive, brooding mood. “My Perfect You” is not only the first time Wurtzbach and Anderson are paired onscreen, it’s also their first time working with Garcia-Molina, regarded as a box-office-hit director known for her relatable takes on rom-coms.

Kapuso stars share excitement to party with Pinoys abroad GMA Network’s biggest stars Dennis Trillo, Jennylyn Mercado, Lovi Poe, Alden Richards, Betong Sumaya and Dingdong Dantes are thrilled to bring all-out entertainment to Pinoys in the US and Canada as they prepare for their back-to-back ‘Sikat Ka, Kapuso!’ shows this April. The all-star cast are busy rehearsing for their special performances dedicated to our Kapuso abroad. Following the successful West Coast leg last year, GMA Pinoy TV heads to the East Coast to hold back-toback Sikat Ka, Kapuso! shows on April 7 at the Newark Symphony Hall in New Jersey, USA and April 8 at the Sony Centre for Performing Arts in Toronto, Canada. Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo highlighted that their main goal is to make the show as intimate as possible despite the size of the venue. “Kahit isa siyang malaking show na punong puno ng malalaking artista, nagre-reach out talaga kami sa audience kasi mas masarap yung feeling na nalalapitan mo sila, at may personal experience ang bawat isa sa kanila dahil sila ‘yung totoong bida sa show,” he added. Ultimate Star Jennylyn Mercado also shared how much she enjoyed last year’s Sikat Ka, Kapuso! in California and how she wants to experience the same fun with the group again. “Nung sa una naming pinuntahan, sobrang saya kasi nag-enjoy talaga ‘yung buong grupo so ine-expect namin na this time, mas masaya kasi nadagdagan kami ng isa pa tapos dalawang countries pa mapupuntahan namin. Excited ako kasi kahit pagod kami sa trip, sobrang sarap naman sa pakiramdam na magkasundo kayong lahat,” she revealed. Kapuso Premier Drama Actress Lovi Poe, on the other hand, recalled

her favorite part of the show with the Kapuso abroad. “Isa sa mga paborito kong part ng show last year ‘yung nag-share sila ng kwento nila on stage and then kinantahan namin sila ng songs na bumabagay sa buhay nila. Pinaghandaan namin ito and we really hope we were able to bring a piece of home to them.” Pambansang Bae Alden Richards, who gladly expressed being back in the cast together with his fellow Kapuso artists, said that he is looking forward to spend time with his fellow Pinoys once again following the success of their first show last year. “Nakaka-miss din na makasama sila ulit para sa second leg ng Sikat Ka, Kapuso! and ito ‘yung chance na mapasaya ang mga Kapuso natin,” said Alden. “Marami kaming papasayahin ngayong April kaya abangan nila ang bagong pasabog na ipapakita ng Sikat Ka, Kapuso! team,” said Kapuso comedian Betong Sumaya who also encourages the Kapuso abroad to watch out for their upcoming shows. “Ngayon kasama namin si Sir Dingdong so ibang flavor naman this time, and mas maraming interaction ngayon sa audience,” he added. Ian Veneracion moving back to GMA7? A PHOTO of Ian Veneracion having dinner with a GMA-7 executive triggers the question: Is he transferring networks? The Kapamilya actor quickly denies the rumor. Last March 13, talent manager Perry Lansigan posted on Instagram a picture with Ian having dinner with GMA-7 senior vice president for entertainment, Lilybeth Rasonable. Speculations followed that the 43-year old heartthrob is jumping network. Ian explains, Perry is his neighbor and it doesn’t mean anything, more so about business. “He’s my neighbor in a subdivision near Tagaytay, so yun lang yun, as a neighbor lang,” clarifies Ian during the presscon for his upcoming concert, Ian In 3 Acts last Frday, April 6. His concert happens at Grand Pacific Ballroom, Waterfront Hotel, Cebu on April 21. So no jumping network? “I’m very happy with the roles that I’m getting. “For the past how many years, Pangako Sa ‘Yo [2015], A Love To Last [2017]. “And, di ba, sobrang full support... ABS-CBN has been very, very kind to me.” In fact, ABS-CBN has lined up new projects for him. “Meron kaming mga balak, movie for Star Cinema.” In the past though, Ian has done some projects for GMA-7: Encantadia (2005), Tinig (2006), Captain Barbell (2006), Joaquin Bordado (2008), Totoy Bato (2009), at I Heart You Pare (2010)

BUSY WITH MUSIC According to Ian, he’s now busy preparing for his concert so he has to set aside acting. “Music muna, because nga ayoko hilaw. “If I’m gonna do this, I’m gonna do this right, and polished, yung finding the band members. “And since it’s all live music nga, siyempre kailangan namin i-polish yun, i-rehearse,” he ends.

Public servants who love showbiz isn’t still a popular deal between film producers and the government unlike in some countries (the Film Development Council of the Philippines and the Cinema Evaluation Board could only do so much), Cong. Karlo says the areas of taxation could help a bit easing the burden of local film producers. “There has always been a call to decrease amusement taxes,” he says. “The government can also give fund grants to produce quality films. Sadly, good stories seldom get back up from big production companies. Kailangan meron din kasing big star for commercial appeal. Now, the indie film industry is looking forward to a regional cinema development bill since film festivals in the regions have sprouted, just like the Mindanao Film Festival which had over 100 films in participation last December.”

Cong Karlo Nograles with wife, Maria Margarita Maceda Montemayor Nograles and children, Karlos Mateo, Kristian Massimo and Katarina Mikaelle

DAVAO City Congressman Karlo B. Nograles is the current chair of the appropriation committee in the House of Representatives who is known to be the champion of free tertiary education program in state universities and colleges. He was responsible for producing the P40 billion funding needed to make the dreams of students finish their education starting school year 2018-2019. But the young congressman (he’s only 42) who’s spearheading such serious stuff is also a self-confessed film buff. An avid fan of the Star Wars series (he knows all the episodes by heart), Cong. Karlo has also been a keen advocate of Filipino indie films. If only for his leadership qualities, and the love for Filipino films, he was most fit to chair last year’s Metro Manila Film Festival. Over dinner (with charming wife Marga) at Romulo’s Cafe, he shared thoughts about the current state of the country’s movie industry. So what does he think of Filipino films pitting against big Hollywood movies in local theaters? “On technical quality, of course, Hollywood still has the edge with their CGIs (computer generation imagery),” he points out. “But the Filipino film industry has made great strides in polishing its products.” Local films still need improvement, though, he stresses. “I think the focus should be on making more quality films rather than pandering to what the bigger market wants,” Cong. Karlo shares. “We have really great Filipino films but didn’t prove to be commercially successful. So I think the audience should have more venues to appreciate quality films in such a way that they don’t have to choose between artistic quality or commercial appeal.” So what help could the government offer filmmakers? While subsidy

RACHEL Arenas may just be known before as the daughter of philanthropist, Rosemarie ‘Baby’ Arenas. She used to simply tag along with her famous (and rich) mother to her parties and charity events, but now, Rachel stands on her own merits. The Harvard-trained Rachel was a former Pangasinan representative who’s so loved by her constituents. She could have won unopposed for her second term but she had to give way to her dear mom for the position. While Rachel says her heart is really in serving the public, she continues to have communication with her constituents, and even with people from other regions she could easily win a seat in the Senate. But her passion for the arts and cinema (she loves to watch movies) has brought her to lead a government agency which deals with regulating moviegoers’ choice on watching a local film: the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB). Her experience as a congresswoman and managerial skills have been put to the test during her first year as chair in the board. “Thirty different minds,” she says about the MTRCB board members with a laugh.”You need to balance their opinions and give your own piece. But now, we’re really working as a team, as a big family.” She’s now on top of implementing the rules and regulations of the board and has added inputs to make it better for moviegoers. “We’d say hindi naman kami conservative, pero kailangan din siyempre, alagaan ang morals ng manonood na Pilipino. Iba pa rin ang nagagawang kabutihan ng Filipino values in choosing what to watch.” Her mother’s daughter, indeed. MTRCB chair Rachel Arenas

Reunion movie nina Sharon at Gabby wala nang pag-asa

MAY feeling of being hopeful ang post ni Sharon Cuneta nung Friday (March 23) sa nakatakda niyang meeting sa Star Cinema bosses, kasama ang kanyang manager at ang manager ng kanyang posibleng co-star.

worked with my partner in a long time! Should be fun! God took me where Ishould be. It’s all good! Hindi man nagbanggit ng pangalan, duda ng fans na si Gabby Concepcion ‘yung supposed to be ay leading man niya in her next movie. (But why not Empoy, as she wished? It would be a big hit, we guess.--Ed)

“Hi again. Meeting cancelled cos of change of plans of other people. I know na my next movie. Back to my original project.Haven’t

They will be seen in a new soap titled“Inday Will Always Love You” on GMA 7. Since lagi silang nagkakasama sa iba’t-ibang shows, hindi maiwasan na ma-develop ang feelings nila sa isa’t-isa. Niligawan ni Derrick si Barbie at muntik na siyang sagutin ng dalaga pero may mga nangyari kaya ang romance sana ay hindi natuloy kaya “Almost a Love Story” lang ito, to borrow the title of their newest movie under BG Productions International and GMA Films, in cooperation with Salento Films of Italy. “We were almost there and we would have been a couple but maybe it was not meant to be. Siguro it might happen sometime in thefuture,” wika ni Derrick.

Ang importante ay naging close kami and comfortable ako working with him. Kung kailangan na maging sweet kami sa eksena, ginagawa lang namin. Effortless ‘yun on our part. Hindi nakailangan na umarte pa,” wika ng dalaga. Pero tinuldukan na ni Barbie ang anumang chance namagkabalikan silang muli ni Derrick. Pag nakipaghiwalay raw siya ay tapos na ‘yun talaga. Pero pagdating sa trabaho, walang problema. Tiyak naman daw na kikiligin ang kanilang mga fans sa“Almost a Love Story” na dinirek ni Louie Ignacio.

KC heats up Siargao with friends

as she celebrates birthday SHE has been busy the past few months preparing to launch her debut jewelry line. But now that that’s taken care of, KC Concepcion took a well-deserved break and stripped down to her sexy swimwear as she spent her birthday this weekend on the beautiful island of Siargao. KC, daughter of Sharon Cuneta with former husband Gabby Concepcion, showed no signs of being bothered by the controversy surrounding her parents. Sharon attracted headlines when she unfollowed her ex-husband on Instagram, leading many to speculate that things may have quickly turned sour between the two. It came just a month after they seemed to have renewed their friendship, thanks to working together on an ad

Easter Poems

Let these Easter Poems remind you of the biblical meaning .... the resurrection of Christ. A day to be celebrated and to give thanks! He Did It Poet: Greta Zwaan, © 2000

Jesus does not hang here, the cross does not have power, Jesus had allowed it because it was His hour. No cross could ever hold Him, no tomb encase His soul, Man thought that through His capture, death would take its toll. It seemed that no one listened, they heeded not His word, He spoke of God, His Father, but no one really heard. The soldiers drove the nails in and crushed thorns on His head, They pierced a sword into His side and then declared Him dead. There, now the thing was finished, accomplished was the feat, The enemy was conquered, their plans were now complete. With no more crazy stories, no tales of conquests great, The culprit had been silenced, forever sealed by fate. In order to be certain, they sealed the tomb secure, And placed the guards before it; this man would speak no more! But wait! The peace is broken, the stone is rolled away! The guards lie in stunned silence, this prophesied third day. Behold! The Lord is risen! Who would have thought it true? Those great, far fetched predictions! Is that what God can do? He warned us, He announced it - the warning was quite clear, But who of them would listen? No, no one there would hear. Yet all throughout the ages this day had been foretold, Genesis declared it; this story is of old. And now it’s been accomplished, the price of sin is paid; God merely wants acceptance, a statement to be made. That we declare Him holy, that we surrender all; To bend our knees before Him, that we accept His call. No, life won’t be all roses; yes, thorns might prick your soul,

The final words of the Savior were words of His human needs; He hung on the cross to save others, the greatest commitment indeed. He need not have died for His own sake, for Christ was the sinless One; His deeds were done out of mercy, for the wicked things we had done. We cannot call Him a martyr, for a martyr has no control; Christ was in charge of His hanging, thereby releasing our soul. He had no debt that He owed God; He had the freedom of choice, He came from the portals of glory where angels and seraphs rejoice. The charge that His Father had given, that only Christ could achieve, Must have rocked the portals of heaven; would earthly creatures believe? And, no, they did not accept Him; they whipped Him and spit in His face, They ridiculed every statement; they mocked Him, the One full of grace. His journey was lonely and painful; He was constantly misunderstood, Though He healed the sick and the dying with arms outstretched to do good. But His love was rarely accepted, His motives were questioned, condemned, The Pharisees called Him a rebel, a loner, a man with no friend. But yet He continued His mission, oft times with eyes full of tears, How could His subjects ignore Him, or greet Him with mocking and jeers? Then finally, the words, “It is finished,” declared that His journey was o’er, Accomplished, His mission was over; no need to do any more. Assured, the task was not easy; the road to the cross had been rough, But God, the heavenly Father, confirmed it was done, ‘twas enough. But Christ, the burden bearer, will have complete control. Praise God! His Son is risen! And death has no power, He is the mighty conqueror, e’en in life’s darkest hour. So wanderer, accept Him, the offer stands today; You may not have tomorrow, no chance to kneel and pray. It’s God who makes this offer, it’s you who must decide, With open arms extended, He calls, “Stand by My side.”

JUANA: Ok, sir.

PETER: So Juana, what did you cook? JUANA: As you wished, ketchup at tuyo. PETER: What? I said it’s up to you, not ketchup at tuyo.

I’m leaving, Juana. Cook me dinner. Ok?

JUANA: Ok, sir. What will I cook? PETER: (Napahina ang salita.) It’s up to you.
