Audubon Environmental Education Center, Bristol, RI 9:15 – 11:15 am Join Audubon and witness bird banding, where experts capture, band, measure and release songbirds in order to record their movements. Birds will be gently removed from tall “mist nets” set in the shrubby habitats on the grounds of the Environmental Education Center. The techniques of identifying, measuring, weighing, and banding the birds will be demonstrated before they are released. The migratory habits and life history of each captured species will be discussed. Participants are encouraged to bring a camera and binoculars. Programs are limited to 15 participants, so please register early. Ernest F. “Ernie” Veader Sr., 81, of Rehoboth, passed away peacefully Monday, April 27, 2015 at his residence.
Ernest F. Veader Sr. Ernest F. “Ernie” Veader Sr., age 81, of Rehoboth, passed away peacefully Monday, April 27, 2015 at his residence. He was the husband of Kathryn R. “Kay” (Murray) Veader to whom he has been married for the past 38 years. Born in Rehoboth, a son of the late Joseph and Mary “Gloria” (Medeiros) Veader, he had been a lifelong resident of Rehoboth. A graduate of Bristol County Agricultural High School, class of 1952, he was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War as a Sergeant. Mr. Veader worked at Burnett Ford in Rehoboth and as a construction equipment salesman for AGT, Schmidt, Rainbow Power, and Baker Tractor companies for many years. He enjoyed working on tractors and trucks and served on the board of directors for the Rehoboth Council on Aging. In addition to his wife he is survived by one son: Ernest F. “Ernie” Veader Jr. and
Hermina “Emily” (Leiter) Gouveia 91 of Rehoboth passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at home.
