A haven for fishing, hunting and water sports, more than 75 percent of the state’s waterways, including nine lakes, are within a 90-minute drive. Floatable waterways, such as the James River, Current River, Niangua River and Jack’s Fork sit in and around the Springfield area, attracting year-round vacationers. Within the Springfield area, Jordan Valley Ice Park is open to the public and offers a number of activities, like “learn to skate,” figure skating, hockey development and leagues.
