Jute fabric - Special fabric European quality "European quality" means that the fabric is regularly woven, free from roots an specks. Today, this fabric is manufactured in the countries of origin of jute. To achieve this high quality, regular quality controls are carried out during production. The "European quality" jute fabric is used for higher applications in the industrial sector or interior design (upholsterers).

Blended fabrics Blended fabrics are fabric compositions made of natural or synthetic fibres. The resulting blended fabric usually combines the advantages of the different base materials. Blended fabrics are used for very special applications for which a "standard solution" would be inconceivable.

Raw wool Wool is a renewable raw material with excellent climatic properties in terms of climate compensation. As an antistatic and flame-retardant base material, it is ideally suited for a wide range of technical applications, such as seats and carpets for cars and airplanes. Used as an insulating material, it not only ensures a first-class indoor climate, but also convinces with its pollutant-absorbing properties. Wool is used as a flock or as a yarn, the latter pure or in a mixture with other fibres. It is also processed into felt, mainly in the industrial sector.

Jute yarns - various applications

Fibres Jute fibres Jute is a bast fibre from the stems of Corchorus plants. These annual, herbaceous plants originate from East Asia and require an always humid, tropical climate. Jute is cultivated especially in the Ganges delta, where there are annual floods, so that growth is almost guaranteed without fertiliser and pesticides. As natural fibres, jute fibres are completely degradable. Jute fibre has a golden and silky sheen, which is why it is also called the "golden fibre". It is characterised by a high water absorption capacity, a low tensile strength and good rotting properties. Jute fibres have a high tensile strength with low elasticity, which favours their quality as industrial yarn and fabric, and the fibre can also be easily dyed.

Coconut fibres Coconut fibres, also known as coir, are the fibres that are extracted from the outer shell of the coconut, the mesocarp, and are used as natural fibres. Fibres from unripe fruits can be processed into yarns and thus into fabrics. The fibres are very stretchy, strong and durable. Coconut fibres are also insulating, sound-absorbing, antistatic and hardly inflammable. The fibres are used for the production of mats, carpets and wall coverings. The production facilities are located along the coastal regions of the humid tropical regions of such as Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and India.

Sisal fibres The fibres from the leaves of some agaves are called sisal. Sisal is a relatively young natural fibre that is extremely tough and tensile. The unusual stiffness of this fibre is certainly worth mentioning. Sisal is classically used for the production of ropes, cords and yarns. Sisal fibres are mainly produced in Brazil, Tanzania, Mexico, Kenya, Colombia and China.
