Access to Articles

1 Access to articles begins at the Main Menu. New articles are listed at the “In this issue . . . “ page. 2 This public link takes visitors and readers to the abstract of each new article added to the journal. Access to the full text of an article requires Login using a USERNAME and PASSWORD.

After Login, subscribers have access to the Article Center for a list of all active presentations.

4 The Article Center lists each article Category and the number of articles in each category. The selection of a Category title will link to the Category Page.

Guidelines for Submitting Articles There are no restrictions on the length of a manuscript or the number of supporting images. (see Referencing Images below). Manuscript length and the number of images should be sufficient to cover the topic while keeping clarity and brevity of presentation in mind. Questions or inquiries about the submission process are welcome, and should be directed to the editors@mobileteaching.org. Submission Process 1) Authors must submit articles electronically by email to the following address: articles@mobileteaching.org 2) The title of the article will be the subject of the email. No other information should be included in the subject line. 3) The body of the email should include the following information in this order: a) The author(s) full name(s), title(s), email address(es) and contact phone number(s). Physical address(es), etc. will be requested if accepted for publication. b) A 50-150 word abstract with relevant tag words underlined. c) The proposed manuscript should follow the Abstract in the e-mail message. The manuscript should contain no information that can identify the author(s). If the nature of the manuscript cannot be easily submitted according to the procedure above for whatever reason (length of manuscript, type of illustrations, etc.) then submit an inquiry to editors@mobileteaching.org for instructions on alternative methods for submission. d) Images (videos, jpeg, or gif images) should be placed at appropriate image sharing sites such as YouTUBE® for videos or Google® Picasa for jpeg/gif images (both services are free). See instructions below for referencing images in the manuscript. Tables, if used, should be saved as either jpeg or gif images.

Evaluation Submitted manuscripts will be reviewed first by the Coordinating Editor of the Journal of Mobile Teaching and then submitted to the Consulting Editors for review. Comments from the Editor/Reviewers may be shared with the authors if necessary. Review of manuscripts is the “double blind” style, where neither the authors nor the Consulting Reviewing Editors are aware of each other’s identities. Individuals interested in being consulting editors for JMT should contact editors@mobileteaching.org. All submitted work is assumed to be original and not to have been published nor submitted for publication elsewhere. If not, Authors are required to inform JMT of any other submissions. If selected for publication, a Statement of Originality and any applicable Permission Forms for all re-use material will be required. See also http://regulus.com/copyright_ip.htm Referencing Images All images (photos, tables, videos, etc.) MUST be placed at image sharing sites (such as YouTUBE® or Google® Picasa) and not submitted with the manuscript. The images must be referenced at the end of the appropriate paragraph position per the following:

General Requirements Feel free to contribute articles that discuss any ideas or experiences you have or have had regarding teaching or training with mobile devices. Mobile is a very broad field, and there is room for the inclusion of many subjects. If you are curious about the applicability of a topic you wish to write about, you may contact the Coordinating Editor (editors@mobileteaching.org) with a short synopsis of the idea. We have designated five categories of articles which are: Teaching Ideas and Techniques Articles and information on how mobile can innovate classroom teaching and learning. Reviews of Mobile Devices and Technologies Articles and information on mobile devices and how they can work for classroom teaching and learning. Reviews of Mobile Apps and User Agents Articles on the “usability” of mobile apps and user agents for classroom teaching and learning. Current Research on Mobile Teaching Updates and evaluations on trends, strategies, and results for current research on mobile teaching and learning.

The type of article considered for publication is equally broad. Articles may be comprehensive reviews of topics, position papers on relevant issues, reviews of literature, reviews of books, apps, mobile devices, etc., but feel free to be creative in your approach to the topic. A simple to-the-point presentation style is best. The Journal’s audience will include professionals from many areas of the education and training industries; mobile device and application developers; and, technology consultants. Your article will be more easily understood (and thus taken more seriously) by the readers if you use this approach. The goal of the JMT is to facilitate the exchange of information and ideas regarding the application of mobile technologies among students, parents, teachers, mobile content providers, and education and training practitioners. Marketing or advocating a particular mobile device, app, or service, or private market research reports is permitted under special review guidelines. Contact the Coordinating Editor first if you are planning an article of this nature.
