The Rising Sun baseball team was ranked sixth in the state in 2014.

Rising Sun softball won its third regional in four seasons in 2014.

The boys and girls cross country teams performed all under first year head coach Jason Barth. The boys won the ORVC title in 2014. Rising Sun golfers finished the season with a regional berth.

Balldawgs capture tourney titles The Rising Sun Balldawgs swept the Rising Sun, IN baseball tournament with the 10u and 12u teams winning their respective divisions. On May 31 – June 1, the Rising Sun Balldawgs finished 1st in the Rising Sun, IN 10 & Under Tournament. During Saturday’s pool play round, Rising Sun was perfect in their 11 – 0 win over Milan. Jonathan Jimenez and Ryan Willoughby combined to pitch a perfect game. Winning pitcher Jonathan Jimenez led the team going 2 for 3 with 3 runs and had 8 Ks in 3 innings while Bryce Turner went 2 for 3 with a HR, 2 runs and 3 RBIs. Ryan Willoughby 1 for 3 with a run and RBI and had 5 Ks in 2 innings. Reese Willoughby 2 for 4 with an RBI and Corbin McHenry 1 for 3 with an RBI. Logan Riddle had a run and RBI. Eli Hoffman, Shane Phelps and Cohen Lang each drove in a run. Kendall Montgomery score a pair of runs while Zack Alexander and Andrew Shaw each scored a run.

In the second game of pool play, Rising Sun won 4 – 3 in 7 innings versus Jackson Co Blaze (OH). Turner led the team going 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs followed by Hoffman going 1 for 2 with 2 runs and an RBI. Jimenez 1 for 3 with 2 runs and Reese Willoughby 1 for 2 with an RBI. Winning pitcher McHenry had 3 Ks in an inning of work. In the semi-finals, Rising Sun defeated the Jackson Co Blaze (OH) 11 – 3. Winning pitcher Hoffman led the team by going 3 for 3 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs followed by Jimenez going 1 for 2 with 2 runs and an 2 RBIs. Turner and Phelps went 1 for 2 with a run and 2 RBIs, Shaw 1 for 2 with 2 RBIs, Riddle 2 for 2 with 2 runs. McHenry, Montgomery and Alexander each crossed the plate. In the Championship game, the Rising Sun Balldawgs cruised to a 12 – 4 win versus Milford Express. The Balldawgs scored 5 runs in the first and second innings and never looked back. going 3 for 3 with 3 runs and an RBI followed by Andrew Shaw 1 for 1 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs. In Sunday’s Championship game, the Rising Sun Balldawgs faced Seymour (Purple). In the first inning Seymour jumped out to a 3 – 0 led. In the second inning a

single by Bryce Turner, Sam Baxter and Dalton Snelling cut the lead to 3 – 1. In the third inning a leadoff double by Steven Jimenez and a HR by Adam Dixon tied the game at 3 – 3. In the fourth inning a walk by Andy Dixon and back to back singles by Jacob Bovard and Steven Jimenez loaded the bases. Adam Dixon’s fielder’s choice to second scored the go ahead run. In the fifth inning with the bases loaded Adam Dixon hit a grand slam HR giving the Balldawgs an 8 -3 lead. Seymour scored two runs in the sixth inning but the Rising Sun Balldawgs stalled their rally and won 8 – 5. Andy Dixon led the team going 2 for 2 with a Grand Slam HR, 2 runs and 4 RBIs followed by winning pitcher Steven Jimenez going 3 for 3 with a run scored along with 7 Ks and Adam Dixon going 1 for 4 with a HR, run and 3 RBIs. Dalton Snelling 1 for 3 with an RBI, Bryce Turner scored a pair of runs while Landon Cole and Sam Baxter each scored a run.
