Redwine takes over as RSRF executive At its Dec. 18, 2013, meeting, the Board of Directors of the Rising Sun Regional Foundation appointed Associate Director Jascia Redwine as the new Executive Director of RSRF to succeed Ed Sullivan, who retired as of Dec. 31, after having served for 17 years as the first and only Executive Director. Ms. Redwine has served with RSRF since 1998,
as the Associate Director for the last several years, and, thus, is very familiar with every aspect of foundation operations. In announcing this appointment, both retiring President Marianne Wiggers and Vice President Dennis Elliott stated, “Jascia was clearly the first choice by the board to succeed Ed, and we are delighted that she has
Historical gift from Whitlocks includes boat
The Ohio County Historical Society director Cliff Thies is pleased to announce that the “Whitlock Collection” has been formally deeded to the Society. The Whitlock Collection has been the cornerstone of the Museum since it was placed on extended loan in 1968. On Dec. 25, 2013 the Whitlock Heirs generously granted full ownership of this important collection to the Society. The collection includes the famous “Hoosier Boy” race boat, furniture from the renowned Whitlock Chair Company and many other important historical artifacts. This is by far the greatest

She and Ed have served as a great team for these many years, and we expect a very smooth transition of foundation administrative operations.” Redwine also served as the first Executive Director of the Ohio County Community Foundation in the late 1990’s and played an

Rising Sun Chief of Police David Hewitt reported Monday, Jan. 6 that Timothy Bovard, 54, of Rising Sun, was arrested during the overnight hours Monday on suspicion of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (Class A misdemeanor). Bovard is an employee of the City of Rising Sun’s Street Department. He was stopped by officers as he was driving a city-owned
