By Jacques Offenbach

Fri 3 & Sat 4 March 7.30pm, Sat Matinee 2.30pm The University of Chichester is proud to present Orpheus in the Underworld, Jacques Offenbach's satirical operetta based on the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, with a twist! Directed by Lisa Pow and conducted by Adam Hoskins, prepare for a colourful musical rampage through Olympus, down to the underworld, as Orpheus reluctantly fights to rescue his estranged wife Eurydice from the clutches of Pluto. Raucous dances, including the "Galop Infernal" (known more widely as the "Can-Can") and rousing choruses, bawdy humour and cutting one-liners, this updated interpretation of one of the funniest French operettas will leave you cheering for more Bacchanalia!
