On behalf of the NSW Office of Sport, I am delighted to welcome you to the Northern Inland Region and the city of Tamworth for the 2026 Your Local Club Regional Academy Games.

A much-anticipated fixture on the sporting calendar for aspiring regional athletes, the Games continues to bring together the NSW Regional Academies of Sport Network in a dynamic environment that champions excellence, respect and sportsmanship. Each year, this event celebrates not only competition, but the values and connections that underpin success in sport.

This year, close to 1,000 of NSW’s most promising young athletes, representing 11 Regional Academies of Sport, will take part in the Games. Their participation provides a fantastic opportunity to recognise the extraordinary commitment of the coaches, team staff and volunteers whose dedication plays a vital role in nurturing talent and shaping future success The Office of Sport is proud to support the Games as part of our ongoing investment in regional academies.

Following an outstanding Olympic and Paralympic year, and as we look ahead towards Brisbane 2032, we remain committed to facilitating meaningful opportunities for athletes in regional communities and strengthening achievement right across the athlete pathway

The Regional Academies of Sport continue to make a significant contribution to NSW’s performance pathways by delivering education, development and progression opportunities for athletes, coaches and officials, while harnessing strong community support for sport across the State.

To every athlete competing in this year’s Games, I wish you the very best and hope your time in Tamworth is both rewarding and memorable. To the parents, carers and supporters who make these experiences possible, I hope you enjoy sharing these special moments and celebrating the achievements of these remarkable young athletes.

REGIONAL ACADEMIES OF SPORT

It is with great pleasure, and on behalf of the Regional Academies of Sport (RAS), that I welcome everyone to the 2026 Your Local Club Regional Academy Games.

Benchmark talent identification events like these continue to play a vital role in shaping the future of high performance sport in NSW. Our state’s passion for sport runs deep, and the Games stand as a celebration of both community pride and athletic ambition. This year, we are excited to welcome almost 1,000 talented young athletes to Tamworth for an exciting 3 days of competition.

I extend my thanks to the Northern Inland Academy of Sport for once again hosting this outstanding event. With Tamworth’s exceptional venues, I am confident we will witness performances that highlight the strength and spirit of regional sport in NSW. Beyond the competition itself, the Your Local Club Academy Games offer a powerful opportunity to showcase the enthusiasm, character and potential of our young athletes. Their commitment inspires teammates, families, and communities alike. I also want to acknowledge the invaluable contribution of our volunteers, coaches, officials, and support personnel. Your dedication ensures that opportunities like this exist and thrive.

RAS is proud to again recognise the generous support of ClubsNSW (Your Local Club) as the principal partner of the Games. Our thanks also extend to the NSW Government through the Office of Sport for its continued investment and leadership. BULL PHOTOGRAPHY

We are pleased to welcome Kevin Bull Photography as the official photographer for the 2026 Your Local Club Regional Academy Games.

Kevin and his team will be capturing action shots, team moments, and the overall spirit of the Games across all venues throughout the weekend. They will rotate between sports and locations to photograph as many athletes and squads as possible.

All participating athletes have already indicated photo consent or non‑consent through their Academy Code of Conduct. However, if you or your athlete prefer not to be photographed at any time during the event, please notify the photography team or speak to event staff so they can accommodate your request.
