ASSUMPTIONS Increased flooding will weaken the infrastructure at the city’s perimeter. Biking, walking and ferry transport will become major forms of transportation and recreation. New York City’s edge will retain its role as a hub of recreational activities. The platform has strong spatial and programmatic juxtaposition, providing different architectural and urban experience. It is a space that contains water related programs and also indoor activities. It is a landscape that people will get there easily; it is a building because people go there for recreational purpose. As a result, sometimes people feel the water while other time feel about the light. DOWN

The study of Invisible Power in Extra-Large scale is an experimental test about extreme condition in architecture and also in the society. In order to react the DE-POLITICALIZATION process in the City of Beijing, the capital of China, the design proposed a huge mass placed on the Tienanmen Square for all government departments. Instead of dispersing them into the city, causing issues on traffic and working efficiency, the proposal aims to create densification of the government buildings into only ONE volume.

Future Olympics Park Assumptions Enhydrous City - is a vision of a revitalized east London to meet the aspirations of the 21st century; a practical vehicle for Olympic legacy; a re branding of an area associated with its deprived industrial and dock lands past. Enhydrous City - is a water-based urban structure that has the reinstatement and extension of the original waterway system and delivers a great use of the water, for living, transportation, recreation and related business.

CONTEXT The Tiber Island is located in the city of Rome, where the city pattern is not like typical urban grids. Rome has preserved her ancient characters in the memory of urban patterns that buildings have close relation to each other. In such context, the proposed museum should consider itself as one of the memory piece of the city, in order to recall and respect the time of Tiber River.

THE SPACE The purpose of Museum of Tiber River is to provide an immersive experience for visitors and Romans alike to explore and understand the river in its historic context studying both its natural and human built dimensions. In the museum, following with a continuous exhibition path, there are changes of spatial quality in between openness, narrowness, lightness, darkness, slowness and fastness. These diverse spaces reach different exhibition requirements and provide potential flexibility for exhibition, also for possible public activities.

University of Oregon, Fall 2011 Instructor: Donald Corner Individual Work Glass facade design

The enclosure design aims to minimize heating and cooling loads through passive design. The strategy is to daylight the building, limit solar heat gain, and night ventilate exposed thermal mass to provide passive cooling. Roof will be insulated and overhang the entry wall. The fascia detail expresses the “lightness� of the building and the facade composition addresses the performance requirements without excessive heat loss due to over glazing.
