Regents School of Austin

Regents School of Austin opened its doors in 1992 with a desire to provide a distinctly different educational opportunity. With a commitment to be Christ centered in principle and classical in method, Regents equips students to become lifelong learners who are empowered to think critically, speak confidently, live boldly, and serve faithfully.
The mission of Regents School is to provide a classical and Christian education founded upon and informed by a Christian worldview that equips students to know, love, and practice that which is true, good, and beautiful, and challenges them to strive for excellence as they live purposefully and intelligently in the service of God and man.
The Regents motto is the Latin phrase Coram Deo, which means “before the face of God” or “in the presence of God.” Our desire is for Regents to be a community of Christ followers living Coram Deo.
guided by our mission and our motto
The Bible and the lamp symbolize the Latin word veritas, meaning "truth " God is truth, and His truth is objective and absolute. In seeking to understand His truth we will also gain wisdom and knowledge
The hands folded and raised in prayer portray the Latin word, reverentia, meaning reverence, awe, and adoration. As we behold the majesty of God, our response is to worship, love, and devote ourselves to Him
The anchor in the midst of turbulent waters represents fiducia, meaning faith or trust This faith is an act of trust by which our hearts and minds embrace, believe, and personally rest upon Christ for salvation
The hands extending a basket of loaves and fishes represent the Latin word, ministerium, which is the idea of ministry or service Our worship, love, and devotion to God are evidenced by our words and deeds to our fellow man
Classical education is a conscious return to the ancient goal of education: teaching children to think and learn for themselves by imparting to them the tools of learning It is an approach to education that is rooted in the liberal arts and built upon the concept of the Trivium. The Trivium is comprised of three basic tools of learning: Grammar (the tool of knowledge), Logic (the tool of reasoning), and Rhetoric (the tool of communication and expression)
Regents provides a nurturing, grace filled environment that trains the whole student to think, act, and serve with Christ like character. We equip students with the knowledge, skills, and vision necessary to be effective leaders and servants for Christ in all aspects of life. Our hope is to raise up a counter cultural generation that recognizes God’s Word as the ultimate authority and can articulate the Christian message with clarity, conviction, and love.
We desire to be a warm, authentic Christian community where each student, parent, and staff member feels connected and known. Lifelong friendships are formed through the many opportunities to pray, celebrate, and serve together. Involved parents are essential to the success of our school. Regents recognizes that parents are the primary educators of their children and we desire to operate as an extension of the family, cooperatively assisting parents as they carry out their God given educational responsibility. We call this in loco parentis, which means "in the place of a parent."
At Regents, we believe an education should be a continual experience that begins in childhood and lasts a lifetime We maintain a long term view of education and seek to graduate young men and women whose minds are cultivated and hearts are nurtured for effective, Christ centered living that serves them long after they receive a diploma
Our hope is that one day when they leave our campus, Regents students will be fully equipped with the knowledge, wisdom, and understanding to impact their generation and generations to come for the Kingdom of God.
A community is where I am known, where I grow. It is being a part of something bigger than myself.
STUDENT
A regent is " one who rules or administers in the absence of a sovereign." As the Lord's regents, we are called to be caretakers of all that He has placed in our hands, including our intellectual and spiritual gifts It is our prayer that the education provided by Regents helps prepare our children for this great undertaking.
The Grammar years are designed to invite wonder, excitement, and adventure into learning Our youngest students benefit from a building block approach to each subject based on their natural curiosity, imagination, and capacity to retain information More significantly, a nurturing atmosphere that weaves Christ into every area of education trains our Grammar students in essential Christian values and provides them with daily reminders of God’s truth, goodness, and beauty.
The role of the Grammar School is to lay a strong foundation so our students can become lifelong learners The skills and tools that make up that foundation are reading, writing, and reasoning, presented in a way that engages and inspires a student to discover the beauty and intricacy of the world that God has made
The School of Logic encourages students to live a Christ honoring life while challenging them to think critically about the world around them As they strengthen their ability to analyze, discuss, and debate ideas, they also learn the value of making authentic connections and discerning truth Each subject is designed to continually point students toward Christ and virtue through the content of the class and the discipleship of the teacher. The School of Logic is committed to nurturing each student's potential and guiding them toward greater academic, emotional, and spiritual independence.
Logic students are curious about God and His creation around them As they transition to young adulthood, they are growing in their ability to question They want to know “why” things are the way they are The School of Logic begins equipping students to become inquisitive about the world and people around them by applying a biblical, Christ centered worldview
STEPHEN STEINER HEAD OF LOGICRhetoric students engage in "The Great Conversation” through a sequence of study that is designed to develop eloquence, poise, leadership, academic initiative, and spiritual maturity Classes are structured to reinforce self expression and applied knowledge, while intentionally approaching content from a biblical worldview. This equips students with both the technical skills and moral framework to successfully evaluate decisions of the past, problems of the present, and opportunities of the future. In doing so, the School of Rhetoric prepares winsome, virtuous scholars who are able to effectively lead others to that which is true, good, and beautiful.
As the capstone program at Regents, our goal is to cultivate and graduate young men and women who are thoughtful, interesting, faithful, courageous, and eager to use their gifts and skills as effective citizens and servants in Christ's Kingdom.
Living out our call to be the hands and feet of Christ.
Service to the greater community has been a part of our school since its founding. Ministerium allows us to take our faith out into the community and embrace our calling to " serve one another." Through Ministerium, students have the opportunity to step outside their comfort zone, expand their view of the world, and share the love of Christ with those in need
All students participate in Ministerium projects each year, partnering with organizations such as Central Texas Food Bank, Community First! Village, Operation Christmas Child, and many other local and global organizations It is through these opportunities and experiences that we hope to shape students into young men and women who possess a living faith and a servant's heart
"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace."
Regents athletics strives for excellence both on and off the field.
Athletics, rightly understood as an integral part of education, complements our greater mission at Regents. The pursuit of excellence exceeds the need for temporary success as we attempt to prepare our students for a lifetime and not just a season. Within this framework, athletics is used as a tool to focus on discipleship and character development.
While many of our teams have experienced great victories on the courts and playing fields, Regents believes true results will be seen as our students grow into godly spouses, parents, employers, neighbors, and friends
The essence of sports, like many things, has much deeper value and meaning, and there are some things in life that can only be learned on the court or field If we do it well, to God’s glory, we have a chance to really make a difference in our community
Regents Fine Arts empowers students to create, appreciate, and share with the world that which is beautiful in the eyes of the Creator.
Regents sees the human desire to create as a direct reflection of God’s creativity and seeks to establish programs that echo this idea. With highly qualified and gifted faculty, we provide an outlet for students to develop their full artistic potential, as well as continually point them back to the beauty and design of the ultimate Creator
Through their study of the arts, students learn to contemplate and appreciate that which is true, good, and beautiful, while also building skills relevant to both academic and life success The arts can provide great insight into philosophy, tell stories of history, promote thought, nurture creativity, instill confidence, and foster dedication. Most importantly, the arts can be used to honor God.
At Regents, students are trained to delight in the arts as a gift of God. They learn to discern what makes a creative work true, good, and beautiful, and how to present their own work as a way to bless people and glorify God
dynamic community of ducators committed to oth Christ and their calling.
t Regents, we consider the hepherding of young hearts and inds to be a high privilege and a eat responsibility. The 'content' e teach is just one small part of hat we do each day We desire to enuinely know and invest in the ves of our students and are ommitted to using each day as a discipleship opportunity
