Grammar School Checklist
☐ Uniforms: Make sure you have school uniforms. More information here. PE uniforms should be worn to school on PE days, unless specified by the teacher.
☐ School Supplies: Each student will need a backpack or messenger type bag, appropriate for their age and grade. There are no specific brands identified. Wheeled backpacks are acceptable. The school provides all school supplies that are needed, including a notebook or folders as directed by the grade level. Each student receives one binder. If the binder breaks, the parents are responsible for replacing it with a similar color and style binder.
☐ Arrival: Grammar School students are not allowed on campus before 7:30. Students in grades K-3 arriving between 7:30 and 7:45 must enter Grammar Hall through the main entrance doors and proceed to Holding Rooms. For safety and to respect teachers’ preparation time, all other doors will be locked until 7:45 and students will be released to their classrooms. Exceptions exist for tutoring and music sectionals. All 4th, 5th, and 6th graders will wait on the Plaza or in the Events Center in case of inclement weather. Parents are welcome to wait outside with their children. Please view the arrival and dismissal procedures here.
Kindergarten – 3rd grade Holding Rooms are designated below:
Kindergarten & 1st grade – GS Motor Lab, Room 124
2nd & 3rd grade – Grammar Hall Library
☐ Carpool: Please arrive at the proper time for your child. Early arrival can disrupt dismissal. Your carpool number can be found in FACTS SIS under Web Forms/Grammar Carpool Information. This is also where you will fill out your mandatory carpool plans for your child before the first day of school.
☐ GS Communications Webpage: View the Grammar School Communications page located behind the login on the website for information throughout the school year.
☐ Volunteer Signups: Volunteer signup information will be emailed to families after the start of school. The email will include links to signup forms specific to each Grammar class.
