Equipping Leaders to Equip Leaders
From the President Greetings!
We are glad you have inquired about our school, Covenant Theological Seminary (CTS). We have provided this mini-catalog to introduce you to some of what we offer at CTS. We have a traditional catalog, but we are also adding new courses which utilize materials from the world’s largest Bible school, the International School of Ministry (ISOM). In 2005, after responding to the Lord’s call to go to Cuba and discovering the needs and desires of untrained ministers there, we began searching for suitable materials in Spanish to train them, and in doing so we discovered ISOM which is the most outstanding basic training program we have ever seen. ISOM is the world’s largest video Bible school with over 12,000 training sites in 141 countries and in more than 60 languages. Through this exceptional curriculum the Lord gave me a vision and desire to build 30 courses from their program which would carry students toward higher degrees. Upon receiving permission from ISOM and the seminary with which I had been working, thirty (30) courses were developed. However, due to financial issues, the door to cooperation with that seminary ended. Then, in 2007, the possibility of taking over CTS (an already existing seminary) presented itself. After one year of meeting with their leadership and seeking the Lord’s will in the matter, CTS was transferred over to us so we could continue to carry on and expand the vision the Lord gave us as well as continue their work and legacy, thus adding value to all. We are now available to offer students courses built upon the ISOM program as well as other conventional courses. In either case, ALL are excellent! Browse through this presentation. We look forward to helping you fulfill your educational goals and spiritual calling. Dr. Max O. Flynn President

Overview Degree Work Our Basic 4-step Course Requirement: 1. Answer 100-question test.
2. Outline each chapter. 3. Write a complete summary of what the course personally meant to you (1-3 pages).
Our seminary is devoted to the purpose of training already-committed believers for a lifetime of productive service to the Lord Jesus Christ and His Church. Our courses are Biblecentered and our commitment is to provide spiritual growth for ministers, thereby preparing them for the work of the ministry through the power of the Holy Spirit.
4. Do a book report for additional book(s) on the course subject or an assigned book(s), (3 pages Associates and Bachelors, 5 pages Masters, and 8 pages Doctoral).
Covenant Theological Seminary was founded upon the goal to “equip the saints to do the work of the ministry, as well as honor and recognize ministers for their labors with the main GOAL to DUPLICATE ourselves and the materials for the training of ministers, just as Jesus commanded us in Matthew 28:19-20, and as did the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 2:2. We believe the quality of preparation for our students is far beyond that of most seminaries mainly because our materials deal with the personal growth of the minister, rather than just knowledge about the ministry, or just the message. In other words, our main objective is to prepare the minister so that he or she would live the message, rather than just preach it. This is the heart of CTS.
APPLICANTS FOR ADMISSION are considered without regard to sex, age, color, national or ethnic origin. All individuals who desire to increase their knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ are accepted. Each prospective student will be assessed according to academic background and life experience, including military service. An individualized program of study is then set up to meet his or her personal training needs.

Our vision & call
Our accreditation is with the World Wide Accrediting Commission (WWAC) of Richmond, Virginia. The WWAC is an accrediting commission which holds as its primary objective the encouragement and maintenance of sound scholarship and the highest academic achievement in the areas of private education.
A. MISSION: 1. DISCIPLINE. To disciple and equip ministers who will GO and do likewise (Matthew 28:18-20, Ephesians 4:11-16). 2. DEGREE. To prepare and/or recognize ministers for their ministerial labors and school experience rendering honor to them (Romans 13:7, 1 Timothy 5:17).
Quality education is the goal at all times. Its purpose is the establishment of quality education in private schools, colleges, and theological seminaries. It is a non-governmental body and makes no claim to be connected with the government.
3. DUPLICATE. To commit to faithful men and women the basics of Christian character, growth and ministry for reproduction – duplication – of these truths and materials to others who will in turn, commit the same to others who will also do the same, which will MULTIPLY the Word of God as well as the work of the ministry (2 Timothy 2:2)!
The purpose of accreditation is to:
1. Certify that an institution has met established standards of excellence,
1. PERSONALLY: To personally model the above, teach it, and release it to others to do the same just as Jesus and Paul did (2 Timothy 2:3-7, Acts 1:1, 2 Timothy 2:2).
2. Assist prospective students in identifying reputable institutions which offer degree programs that will meet their needs and goals.
2. PRACTICALLY: To establish and extend God’s Kingdom on earth through preaching and demonstrating the Gospel of grace, teaching it to others, and releasing them into ministry to do the same (Matthew 6:9, 28:20, Mark 16:15-20, Luke 24:44-49, Acts 1:8, 20:24,32, 2 Timothy 2:2).

We are delighted to be working alongside ISOM and excited to announce that we, Covenant Theological Seminary (CTS), will offer you an associate degree upon completion of the basic 5-trimester course and/or give you credit for the trimester(s) completed, then take you all the way to a doctoral degree through our training using courses built on the ISOM program. We gladly accept all credits from ISOM to be applied toward our associate and bachelor degrees. Our three-fold goals are: (1) to equip ministers for the work of the ministry, (2) to offer degree recognition for training, and (3) our main goal being to DUPLICATE ourselves and the materials for the training of ministers. These goals are the primary reasons we are in association with ISOM as we both have the same vision, which is to train and duplicate our ministries and materials into the lives of others who will do the same (2 Timothy 2:2 & Matthew 28:19-20) until the Lord’s Kingdom is established and extended on earth as it is in Heaven.

About Dr. Flynn
Dr. Max O. Flynn President
Max and Judy Flynn have been married for over thirty years, and they are parents of four daughters and eight grandchildren. Dr. Flynn is the founder of East Carolina School of Ministry in Greenville, NC, which was initially established in 1984 and operating through 1988, then later being re-established in 2003 and functioning continuously since that time. In January 2001, he became a facilitator and instructor with Jacksonville Theological Seminary, establishing schools in Raleigh and Greenville. Then, in 2003 he also became the North Carolina representative for Southern Bible Institute and Seminary of Augusta, GA, and was invited to be an International Board Member of Revelation Message Bible College in Jacksonville, FL. Additionally in 2000, Dr. Flynn began his international ministry in Africa and the United Kingdom ministering and establishing training schools which was preparatory training, for in 2005 his ministry was extended to Cuba. There he assisted in establishing a Bible college to create training centers in the nation of Cuba and other Spanish nations beyond. Complimenting that experience is his charge over a Regional Center for the International School of Ministry (ISOM) which also equips Spanish-speaking nations with duplicable Bible training materials. In 2008, he was appointed President and CEO of Covenant Theological Seminary (CTS) to extend, as well as to carry on the influence and legacy of three other seminary presidents: Dr. Robert G. Witty, founder of Luther Rice Seminary, Jacksonville, FL, the late Dr. Harold Vick, founder of Jacksonville Theological Seminary, and Dr. Barney W. English, founder of CTS in Wilmington, NC. CTS has been serving the Body of Christ since 1990. Dr. Flynn was first ordained in 1973 in an independent charismatic church in Jacksonville, Florida, then in 1985 was ordained by The International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. He is currently the senior pastor of Radiant Life Foursquare Church in Greenville and superintendent of the North Carolina Coastal Division of Foursquare Churches. He holds a Bachelor of Divinity from Luther Rice Seminary in Atlanta, GA, a Master of Theology and Doctor of Divinity with Southern Bible Institute and Seminary in Augusta, GA, and doctoral degrees in Religious Education and Theology from Jacksonville Theological Seminary in Jacksonville, FL. His life verse and call is 2 Timothy 2:2: which is the Lord’s strategy to not only equip people for the work of the ministry, but also to duplicate and multiply their ministry by equipping others who will then disciple others. Above all, he is a spiritual father and a “pastor’s pastor” with a shepherd’s heart who equips the Body of Christ and boldly preaches and teaches the Word of God.
