Concentrate On the Road The first skill is being able to concentrate. You need to be able to have your mind focused on one thing only, which is driving. No matter how old you are or what is on your mind, make sure you try to drive with a clear mind and save your thoughts for later. CLICK TO PLAY VIDEO

 One way to ensure you are concentrating on the road is to give yourself a commentary while you are driving, or have the passenger driver do so.  The clearer your mind is, the more you are able to focus on driving.

Anticipate Things Will Happen  You need to be able to focus on the surrounding while you are driving.  Make sure you are driving defensively on the road.  You should always anticipate when something is going to happen. CLICK TO PLAY VIDEO

 Keep a visual on everything around you when driving.

Whether you are on a busy street or driving on the high way, anticipating the worse is always better than not focusing at all. No matter how safe of a driver you are, there is always other distractions out there, so anticipation is a necessary skill when on the road.

 Identify possible risks or dangers in the road scene around you.  Assess the level of risk and predict what might happen.  Respond in a way and in time to avoid or deal with these possible hazards.

Use Your Skill  You must know how to drive and use your bus.  You should be able to switch gears, brake, BACK TO INTRO accelerate, safe and smoothly.  The more practice you have using the controls in your bus, the more skillful you will become.

 Take notice of the passengers in your bus when you are driving.  If the bus comes to a stop or changes gears and they jerk, you need to practice more.  You want to make sure you provide a safe and relaxing trip for you and the other passengers.  If you practice your driving skills you could master everything from smoothly stopping the bus to switching gears.

DO AND DONT’S OF BUS OPERATORS AT FOGGY WEATHER

Don’t use hazard lights at the time of foggy weather. Use only hazard lights while parking, and in emergency situation.

1st stage: Press on the top of the switch to switch on the front fog lights. 2nd stage: Press on the top of the switch once again to switch on front and rear fog lights.

Have the Right Attitude Next you want to make sure you have the right attitude when driving. Make sure you are calm and patient when it comes to learning the skills of the road. The calmer you are, the easier it will be for you to become a great driver. If you give up too easily you will just become stressful of the situation and never learn the skills you need to become a good driver.

KEEPING THE DOORS OPEN AND MOVING THE BUS FROM BUS-STOP MAY LEADS PASSENGER TO ROLL DOWN WHILE ALIGHTING. KEEP ALWAYS CLOSED,THE EMERGENCY BRAKE RELEASE SWITCH.

NOTE:IF ANY ONE OF THE OPERATORS ARE NOTICED VIOLATING WILL BE PENALISED.

 You must know the highway code in order to become a good driver.  Make sure you keep yourself updated with the most recent highway code.

 Many new drivers are well aware of the highway code because the recently had to study it.

 However, if you have been driving for years the highway code has changed dramatically.  Make sure you get a recent copy of the highway code and study it.  It is always a plus to know the laws of the road in order to become a good driver.

Self Discipline  Finally, self discipline is key when it comes to the skills of a good driver.  Having the control to obey the speed limit and traffic signs is a tough job.  Make sure you have the self discipline when you get behind the wheel.  This could improve your driving and make you a good driver.
